On Bloomberg - psychopaths make best traders

^ Just because one is fearless doesn't make them smart. Or wise.

    Blown up and Devastated

So you couldn't make money rebating and you figured you could by playing like the big boys. That makes no sense at all, I understand moving up to MSFT from let's say, JDSU, only when you feel you have reached a limit on your profit and figure you can get a better return on your investment...

On Bloomberg - psychopaths make best traders

It's not at all about emotions, it's about one single emotion, fear. Does being less fearful make one a psychopath? There is a reason 99 % of people out there never get anywhere, and not just in trading, and that's because they are scared little sheep.

Using nature and natural eco and bio systems to style your trading

If it's sunny, I go long, otherwise short. I exit positions when I have to get up to go potty.

    The Anti-Capitalistic Inquisition

According to my understanding of the laws at the time, they did not have to disclose the off balance debt, all they had to disclose in their financial statements notes was the existence of those SPEs but not actual hard numbers. As long as their stock price stayed up, they should have been able...

    The Anti-Capitalistic Inquisition

    The Anti-Capitalistic Inquisition

Enron is not as a big deal as everyone made it. Their mistake was NOT 'hiding debt', their mistake was panicking when people came to call. Their actual mistake was quite small and trivial...it's just been blow WAY out of proportion. For the record, their 'off side' and trivial mistakes are...

Who is more free between the two ?

The story is fundamentally flawed, written to appeal to that side of us that would like to sit on the beach, drink beers all day long and get head. Successful businessmen I know strive on the stress and the action, and love knowing other people depend on them, otherwise they'd all be retired...

    Fading the opening gap

The problem is his system is too simple and doesn't correctly weigh and identify enough of the variables necessary in gap trading to make it profitable. Your judgement is better than his system because, while it may not be scientifically backtested and optimized, it takes into account...

    Backtesting T&S data

Any software that lets you backtest using raw T&S data ? This seems to me as the best and only way to backtest a strategy and test for correlations that involve bid/ask sizes, optimizing ECN usage, trade rates, etc for intraday scalping.

    Stocks with shaves

Wow, the list is on the Island website. Imagine that  http://www.inetats.com/support/subpenny/index.asp And for whoever said the shaving allows traders to violate the FIFO rule, you just have to look at it as the FIFO rule applied to smaller increment price scales. :D
