    Who's having credit events?

Yeah, it's a crazy environment and it is exactly how you understand it. Although, we are in a high default environment, the majority of the IG CDS market is money good. In a nutshell, the posting of cash is a day to day ordeal. The problem is that the wide spreads have persisted for many months...

do you always look at your PnL?

No, I do not look at my PnL since it does not provide me with any useful trading information. Instead I relax and monitor the action. Since I am familiar with all of the plays, there are no surprises. As a consequence, the PnL takes care of itself. Consider a professional sports athlete. For...

    Who's having credit events?

AIG is posting collateral. Depending on the setup of the credit shop at AIG, typically it would be under a subsidiary entity funded with capital. If the entity posts collateral, then it would be extremely sensitive to MTM. In other words, even though the CDS contract may be on a very reliable...

Various ES DOM, are they basically all the same?

There is no difference except for noise. All platforms are subject to their own noise due to their frameworks. They all draw pictures of the same thing. It's simply a matter of using the picture that works for you and filtering out the noise. However, to see the picture, you have to know what...

    5% - 10% profit per day trading

The point is to allow the market to tell you who the 5%ers are. The heat map tells you without fail every single day. FMCN is a 20%er right now. At the end of day, it can wind up flat at 0%. A framework is more powerful than relying on stats since it does away with the need to predict names that...

    5% - 10% profit per day trading

Honestly, it is very straightforward... I won't say simple because that is relative. For me it is simple, others said it was not simple for them for noise/whipsaw reasons... In any event, what you can do is construct a live heat map of the stock market. If that is complicated, you can google for...

    Iterative Refinement

Tell me about it. The mrs works at Lehman Bros. I dropped her off at her office, the Lehman headquarters in midtown, at 7am EST and she walked in among the camera crews with an empty moving box to clear her desk... I'm still stunned a deal fell through... I guess I'll be doubling up on contracts...

I can't wait to see market shut down and all you traders workin menial jobs

I don't know about the OP, but for certain I would find my way into a short. When your trading is unbiased, the only thing that kills you is when the market is not moving... It would be like being stuck in a sailboat in the middle of the ocean without any wind.

You should be able to work your way to where you currently percieve yourself to be. The key is the process, not the details. If you can nail down the process, then the details...

Don't let other's dictate your trading IQ/EQ. If a rookie fresh out of high school bangs out 37.5 pts in an NBA game in his first season, the player recognizes one thing. THAT HE HAS THE SKILLS TO DO IT AGAIN! It is best to ignore what others do since the majority will average out to the mean...

ME TOO!!! :D... Similarly. I would have seen and labeled the one bar FTT as a PT3 instead of PT1 and then noted the previous PT2 as a simultaneous PT1 of the new channel. In any event, definition wise, I regard a tape as having a several sequential bars where every bar is either or both a full...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

For you, sometimes a chart is warranted to see if your descriptors correspond to what another person would see. If not, then the answer they post will not be of any value to you and just another post that did not understand your initial question. As for me, you already know what I am going to...

Perhaps you didn't note that this was a YM chart. When you check the ES, the pt1 did not come in until later (ie. the XO of the YM that I have annotated in the post). These are subtleties that I am accustomed too. In other words, for me I use the previous FTT that eventually XOs as the PT1...
