Guys, I can't emphasise the importance of checking earnings dates and news. I forgot to check yesterday and so was long GMKT going into their earnings announcement. Just dropped 12% of my account on a single trade. It's painful, but since it was all 'profit', I know I'll earn it back...

Not a bad idea. I remember Van Tharp saying that scaling out cuts down on long term profitability, but this method is completely discretionary. If I had 3 contracts (for example), I'd bank 1 just to show a profit and let the others ride. I'll be on 1 contract for a little while yet...
