You could be right. I guess time will tell! But while very few traders are profitable (5% or so), there are enough traders out there to make that 5% number be 100,000 traders worldwide (assuming there's a couple million traders out there in the world, which some figures peg at higher than that)...

I think this article is overestimating the % of traders profitable. Can't be 3 in 10 long-term. Almost all other sources say much lower.

I'm interested to know what your reasons are for being a trader. What do you love about it? Is it the money, the risk-taking, the self-cultivation? What images or analogies does trading conjure up? Why are you proud to be a trader?

The question it really comes down to is: what's it worth to you? Is it worth more time, more failures and bounce-backs, more effort? Yes starting some other kind of business could be more profitable but it's not like you can just get out of bed and become a millionaire entrepreneur...
