Hi everyone Just looking for some advice on automated trading. Basically I want to be able to trade some figures that come out on Bloomberg or Reuters (either or both) I am thinking along two lines, either plugging my TT into these news providers somehow, or indeed trading direct over the news...

For some reason I have this feeling the trades they phone through are not even going into the market. Wouldn't be surprised if they are just getting written down and recorded for P&L purposes.

Eurex are pretty notorious for busting trades. Just amazed they didn't bust it. I think most people thought they would, I certainly did.

They could perhaps be viewed as an arena in which to learn. In that regard better than sitting at home on your own if you are new to the game.

Just sounds to me like you are not concentrating. Simple as that, I mean we all make the odd mistake but it sounds like yours are non stop. Think about what you're doing. Maybe one day when you lose some REAL BIG money you might learn from it.

Don't worry, I've done $60,000 in a day so at least it took you three years. On a serious note, do your own work rather than listening to other people, that's where you are going wrong.

Don't know, keep an eye on their website. When they go down, which is quite rare, they usually go down for a while.

I had a black box last year that was placing orders on Liffe for less than a second and then pulling them. Liffe were in contact with me a load, and my point at the time was they are there to be hit if anyone wants them. They said they were having a large number of complaints from locals.

I'm a brit in Europe and I find the american coverage much more entertaining. The Euro coverage is just so dull and of little value and they are late with all their news, at least the Americans have a laugh on their show. Seriously I find the European show just utter sh1te - get a decent news...
