Start trading now or wait until the new year?

If you can trade it should not matter if the markets going up or down. A good trader will go long or short, so any volatility is a good thing. This market is certainly volatile.

Need some input from proprietary traders

The deal sounds great, until you mentioned the commission part.

Isn't GOOG a great short right now??

Its really consolidating here and I think it could go either way, although I wouldn't doubt if it did head a little lower. You still have to be careful with a stock that trades in a $10+ range on a daily basis. It can take your account value down pretty quick if you're wrong.

    Day Trading under $25k...

Yes, I am still using Alliance (http://www.alliancetrader.com). I have had no trouble getting money wired in or out. I have been using them for some time now and everything has been ok. The software is very good. I have been day trading the whole time (on a daily basis) with considerably less...

    Day Trading under $25k...

Hi Yeah, I and several people I know still use them. I know quite a few people on elite have PMed me about these guys, so I'm sure some others here must use them too. Like I said before, you can get a cheaper commission if you email them and ask for a lower rate: trading@alldaytraders.com...

    Under 25k with no series7

I use www.AllDayTraders.com They are the only non-prop firm I know of that will let you day trade everyday with under $25,000 in your account. The DAS software is pretty good and they will usually offer you a lower commission than they have listed on their site if you email them and request it.

    Day Trading under $25k...

The most Alldaytraders (Alliance) gives is 4 to 1 buy power. It doesn't matter with them if you're licensed because they are not NASD members. They are a foreign broker, that's why they don't have to follow the NASD pattern day trading rule.

    Day Trading under $25k...

    1) Way too general. Everyone has a different method and you need to find your own. 2) What nightmare are you talking about, almost all firms have everything on the internet now. It is not really that difficult. If anything just keep monthly statments, every confirmation is not necessary to keep...

Is $5,000 enough to get started with trading?

I use http://www.alliancetrader.com and I have asked them about that US persons statement. They claim they cannot direct advertising toward US people because they do not follow US rules. They say they have spoke to both the NASD & SEC and what they are doing is completely legal. They will...

Is $5,000 enough to get started with trading?

You can day trade with $5k or less with an offshore broker because they do not have to follow NASD trading rules. I use www.alldaytraders.com I have used them for about 4 months now and have not had any problems. I only have about $6k in my account with them and I get 4 to 1 margin and day...

    Day Trading under $25k...

I refunded my acct with alldaytraders this week and I am day trading now with only $4000 in my account. It seems to be ok on all levels so far. I'll keep you guys updated.

    Day Trading under $25k...

Thought you guys would find this interesting, since there have been alot of people jumping to conclusions about how www.Alldaytraders.com might be a rip off or whatever. I ran into some short term personal finanical trouble and had to remove all my funds from Alldaytraders. I requested all my...

    Day Trading under $25k...

lol, I post and you answer it 5 minutes later. I guess that proves my point about you having nothing better to do. Also what's the big deal about it being Jamaica, is that any better or worse than any other foreign (non-US) country in the world. I have to wonder are you specifically...

    Day Trading under $25k...

Damn Ebo, for someone that seems to be real negative about this and would never use this firm you sure do post alot. Makes you appear like someone with nothing better to do. Bottom line is: #1. I don't want to be held back because of some stupid rule that says I need a certain account value...

    Day Trading under $25k...

My friend and I both had accounts with the US broker RealFastTrader.com, I was only swing trading with them because of the PDT rule. They were the ones who set the deal up with the foreign broker http://www.alliancetrader.com to use their software. Realfast told me about them. Being a fairly...

    anyone here work for Schonfeld

I have heard of them, but it is unlikely that everyone has the same deal. All prop firms have varying deals, especially for good traders because they don't want to lose the good ones. If you are successful, you can demand a better deal and the firm will give it to you.

    Day Trading under $25k...

First, I never said I personally wasn't going to claim anything. I will claim and gains or losses. All I said was, the IRS wouldn't know and it is true they would not. I have spoke to my friend who is an accountant for over 20 years about this very topic. I hope you were kidding about "the...

    Day Trading under $25k...

I assume you're talking about taxes. I was speaking to my accountant about this and basically the IRS would never know how much you made or lost because Alldaytraders is not a US firm so they do not report to the IRS. I'm not saying I won't pay taxes, but the IRS would never really have any...
