Getting a job as a Junior Trader

I should note though, getting the CFA is not a bad idea if the prop scene doesn't work out for ya. I'd still say get it, just don't expect them to give a shit that you have it.

Getting a job as a Junior Trader

having worked the prop scene in chicago, I'll give you a little advice. CFA and series 3 don't hurt, but honestly, prop shops don't give a flying f*** at the end of the day. Decent grades and being able to show an interest and understanding of the markets along with outstanding math skills...

Investing in a CBOT B-3 exchange membership

The GIM only gives you treasuries(maybe fed funds, I'm not sure). Treasury opts are the only thing that still trade on the floor (although less and less). Treasury fut pit is a joke, never comin' back. The only purpose of holding one of those is if you are a market maker in the opts on the floor...

    Corn vs. Soybeans trading

once they switched settlement to the screen last year in the CBOT ags, there is almost no volume in the pit anymore (there wasn't much even when it was still a pit settled contract). I haven't looked but they probably trade more spooz in the pit than beans or corn.

Do you realize the original teacher of the "turtle" system, Richard Dennis, started out as a grain trader at CBOT in the wild 1970s???!!!!!!

    10 year cash v 10 year future

Ten year futures have much less duration than ten year cash. I'm assuming you're referring to the on the run ten year also. There are a lot of factors that make this spread move, it's not arb

Most traded stat arb pairs among futures

Fixed income butterflies involving Cash and Futures spreads Most common one is +ZN-10y+ZB I don't know what the proper ratio is anymore, haven't traded it in a long time. stat-arb is a loosely used term these days, some people consider Comex Copper against Spooz a stat-arb spread. I...

    Creating an autospreader

Really depends what you're trading. Heavily traded spreads are going to regularly get mis-hedged with the best of Autospreaders. Co-location through TT or CQG may be an option for you depending on how big your account is and how much you're trading. I'm just going to assume you don't have the...

    Patenting ETF Idea/Strategy

My idea is not an index, nor some BS technical trading indicator. So a lot of what has been said isn't relevant, although I appreciate all the help and insight. I'm thinking all I would need to do is give the HF's a small taste of what my idea is then if they are interested ask them to sign some...

    Patenting ETF Idea/Strategy

An idea dawned on me for a new ETF that has not yet been created. I've been trying to find any information on the possibility of patenting this idea but have been very unsuccessful the last few days. Does anyone know if there is a way to patent this idea or possibly protect my idea...

    HF Collectibles- PAUL TUDOR JONES

I have one other cup to sell. The previous two sold. This one I'm not as eager to sell though. I'm asking 1000 dollars for this one. I was told the year 1992 was a very tough year for Paul, being convinced stocks were going into a bear market as the market held and rallied even. As the story...
