Question For Those Who Used Pass Perfect Series 7 Prep

Did you find the actual series 7 exam to be easier, harder, or the same as the practice exams in Pass Perfect? I'm scoring 88% on the practice exams and was wondering if that shows adequate preparation for the 7. I'm scheduled to take it next Thursday and don't want to be complacent about it.

    Opening Orders - 2009

Can't speak for IB, but you still need enough in your account to cover the fills you do get. Pretty sure they monitor in real time and if you hit your max the remaining orders are canceled and/or any positions are closed immediately to get you in line.

    Opening Orders - 2009

I've done up to 120 orders on IB (60 stocks). Don't know what (if any) limit they have.

Living paycheck to paycheck - must be hard wired

Gotta get frugality ingrained in them at a very early age. My 7-year-old is tighter than I am!

    eSignal Down?

Application data is loading very slowly and quote data is not coming across as of 9AM Eastern. Getting "No Data" on the reception status on the bottom right of the screen, and even the "system status" window is not coming up to tell of any system issues reported. "Live Rep" is also failing...

because everyone says we need capitulation, maybe we'll never have it

I've mentioned before that shortly after the start of the bull run beginning in March 2003, quite a few talking heads were saying "we need capitulation, a puke point, this is a huge sucker rally since we haven't had capitulation," etc. "Capitulation" may be something to look for, and perhaps...

how to deal with wide rang bars

Try experimenting with bars based on ticks or a constant number of contracts rather than time increments and see if that helps.

Rogers Says Geithner Caused Crisis, Must Let Banks Fail

Right on. I was saying that to everyone who said "I think Obama will do a good job". I have nothing against the man personally. Not even that he is the most liberal congressman they could have trotted in there. The Republicans deserve that for turning into Democrats over the course of the...

Cheney Says Nuclear Attack Will Happen During Obamas Term

Exaggerated. When a bully hits you and you slap him back on the wrist, he laughs and continues to pummel you. When a bully hits you and you put him in the hospital, he learns that it is against his best interests to hit you again.

    DayTraders Must Stay Connected!!

Or perhaps the application itself recognizes when the data feed is lost and attempts to reconnect and kill the prior session. I've never had to physically type in a login and password when my connection dropped. My guess is that eSignal and IB are robust enough to reconnect on the new...

    DayTraders Must Stay Connected!!

Well I must be hallucinating then. I've never had to re-login when my router has switched from cable to DSL, and that is the utter truth.

    DayTraders Must Stay Connected!!

The dual WAN router I mentioned above can be used as an either/or or load balancer utilizing both DSL and cable.

    DayTraders Must Stay Connected!!

This probably depends on the application. When I've had a failover, I've never had to re-login to IB or eSignal. Takes a moment for them to reconnect to the feed, but they do it without issue.

    DayTraders Must Stay Connected!!

Yes, it switches you back when your designated primary connection comes back up. There is no indication on your screen (like a pop-up box) when your line goes out but you can tell from the lights on your modem. Unless your applications show that you're not receiving data (in the few seconds...

    DayTraders Must Stay Connected!!

I haven't heard the term link balancer, but you can get what you are after by using a dual WAN router. I use a XINCOM DPG502 hooked up to cable and DSL and have never had a problem. You can choose to "load balance" by using both connections or just use one as a fail over. There will be...

    Super Bowl XLIII Picks

Thanks! It was the same story all year - the offense drives you nuts by never scoring TDs but performs when it absolutely has to and squeaks out a win. Before the last drive I was rationalizing the loss, thinking that the offense finally had its lack of production come back to bite them...
