    True Legendary Trading Stories

The problem with the stock market, is that thousands, millions, of people play it. And the tail ends of the return distributions produce these incredible stories, even out of pure luck. And then, thousands, millions of other people play the market in a way as to try and replicate the same...

    A perfect strategy ... ? Yes ...

If it's a quoted closed mutual fund, it's a share as anything else.

    A perfect strategy ... ? Yes ...

Many here are seeking the holy grail. Now, I believe there IS a strategy that, over the years, can only make money. The only trouble being that it ties up a lot of capital. It goes like this: 1) Find 10-20 closed end "average" mutual funds. Short them in equal parts. 2) Go long the same...

    tracking % return

Yep ... after a while you won't be adding to the investment trust at all (if things go alright) so you can do straight % returns on it (if you do withdrawals, then simply add them back in).

    When junk starts flying

There's no "shorting them", none of them have available shares to short except TBUS, and that might only mean TBUS will go higher ... ehehe.

    When junk starts flying

Baruch, these stocks know it's you buying ... the minute you buy their go into dive mode...eheheh ALL of these stocks will be lower in 1 year, that's pretty impressive.

    tracking % return

Do a search on Google for "Time Weighted Return", it's the closest thing to the truth you can get.

I'm not a naysayer, and it IS a bubble, or do you think stocks shoot up like that on no reason except euphoria? Hey, remember do remember to sell, cause in due time those stocks (IPIX and MAGS) WILL be at the point they started out. I don't have a position in any of them, and don't think...

    Day traders: They’re baaaack!

It's not so much the return of the daytraders, but the return of complete disregard for what a company might be worth that is amazing. Of course, the endgame will be the same.

Bill's riding a freakin' bubble. He had 2 things to have that sucess: 1) Balls; 2) Luck. Don't try to make it a system. If you want to backtest it, check what happened in 2000-2002, that's all the backtesting you need. It's a bubble, a pyramid, the musical chairs, etc, etc. I mean, look...

    Tasr

I wouldn't be surprised if this is all an organized corner going on here, taking into account that the thing started from a very low base (where accumulating almost all of the float wouldn't have been hard or costly).

Yes, and it happens almost every day.

    Daytrader Charged !!!!!!

It's well known that this sheet continues to happen on a daily basis. Indeed, many of the incomprehensible upgrades/downgrades are also part of this sheet. But whoever throws himself into a stock just because he sees it moving MUST be ready to lose is ass there, and shouldn't be given any...

    Daytrader Charged !!!!!!

If you ask me, those that should be charged and found guilty, are those that buy just because they see something moving, without knowing what they are buying or why. Whoever does that deserves the losses he gets.

DELL moved guidance on revenues by less than 2%, and didn't move EPS. Though it made a reaction it might fade, cause it's simply too little to be excited about, and doesn't really make anyone revise estimates on DELL, MSFT, INTC like it would if the revision was larger.

    Tasr

TASR is the poster child for the new bubble. Even if all the policemen in the USA had one (1mn or so), the thing would not be worth 1/5th the current quote (bearing in mind that each of those tasers would have around a 20% net margin to it, and considering NO competition - which is unlikely).
