    TD Ameritrade and Quotetracker Alternative

Ahhh...so that's why my e-mails are coming from Harrison and some other dude and not Jerry anymore. TD did tell me that they did not renew QT's contract [whatever that means] but another rep told me they have no plans to get rid of QT so I was a little confused. Now I'm thinking that what the...

    TD Ameritrade and Quotetracker Alternative

Anyone using TDA last few weeks knows of the data issues. More than just streamer down. Major inconsistency issues. Been with TD since Datek. Love QT but not fond of TOS...at all. Other than getting the feed from DTN IQ and staying with TD, is there a comparable broker/platfrom with the...

    Index data feed into Excel

Looking for a way to get real time index data [Dow, SP, NAZ] fed into excel [for free of course]. I use Quotetracker with Ameritrade. I'm aware of the QT add-on called QTXL that will accomplish what I want, but seems silly to pay $10/month just for the indexes. Does anyone know of any...

YM Volume vs. # of participants

Good point TL. You're right, I did make that assumption and didn't consider the overnights. Before I moved to futures, I had no reason to consider # of participants. But when I moved from 1 to 2 to 5 contracts in short order, I started to wonder, even though I'm comfortable with 5, did I...

YM Volume vs. # of participants

Thanks for the reply and the calculations, Frugi. You're right, there are a lot of one lots, so your numbers make more sense. 5000+/- sounds more reasonable. Still surprises me , though, that more people aren't trading the YM. "Everybody" trades stocks and I just thought that there would...

YM Volume vs. # of participants

Forgive the newbie question/observation but... How many contracts on average are most YM traders here doing in one day? The reason I ask is that I recently started trading the YM and have been averaging about 10 round turns with 5 contracts per trade. That's 100 contracts total. Based...

    Open Ecry Chart Bug

I know most OEC users complain about their charts, but other than the attached error on the X axis, they're fine for me. Anyone else use their charts and get this problem? Happens on all timeframes, any contract, both Demo and Live versions. Tried reinstalling. Does this on two different...

Help! Is anyone having trouble accessing OpenECry?

I only posted here because of the op who said they had problems. Guess it was maintenance because I'm on now. Just came out of the shower, tried it and logged right on. Do you think I should just take a shower if it goes down again? Thanks for the replies all. T.

Help! Is anyone having trouble accessing OpenECry?

Same problem here. Was fine all week including that night when the original poster was having trouble. Now I can't get on. I am also with Comcast [PA]. Error message says: Can't connect to OEC server. Check internet connection. Obviously internet connection is fine. Unless I'm mistaken...

    Excel help [opentick]

Thank you both - both ideas did the trick! Also got a response from Opentick with a direct link to the file download as an executable file. Nice to come home from work with three solutions to one problem! Thanks again, T.

    Excel help [opentick]

Thanks Edgehunter. Not happening for me. It comes down as a text file with an .exe extension. Tried all sorts of ways to alter that. This should be 1,2,3 but it's not working. Still waiting on a response from Opentick. Normally when you change a file extension, it automatically opens...

    Excel help [opentick]

Hi All, Signed up with Opentick - just want to run real time data into Excel. Have Excel 2003 and XP. Been up for hours and have no clue how to get the RTD thing going. Also been all over the internet. I have no idea where to begin. Downloaded their Excel sample and it's in a text...

Pro firms and transferability of Series 7

To answer your question...yes...two years after the U-5 date. CE session should be completed withn 120 days of the first two year anniversary date of passing the 7. Then it becomes every three years. My first thought was that you should just have to take the CE session but maybe there's...

Pro firms and transferability of Series 7

GAT, I will you PM you with my phone number. I have a contact at the NASD that can answer this for you. Can also check out your U4 if you want to see what's what. T.

Pro firms and transferability of Series 7

GAT, Did you take the regulatory element of your Continuing Education requirements? If you didn't sit for any kind of CE session [Sylvan/Prometric center] since you passed in 2000, then you probably went "CE inactive" meaning you are deficient in the eyes of the NASD. T.

    Day Trading under $25k...

Which software version are you using? $85 or $125? Also, it looks like the $12.95 ticket is really $13.95. They add $1.00 each way for software, in addition to the actual monthly software charge. So...1000 shares on ARCA is $17.95 each way?! T.
