Hi Mav, What do you mean by pedigree ? What type of "pedigree" can a 22-yo have if its not a top 10 school solid degree ? Or do you mean a "been with GS since straight outta high school coz their grandfather was a partner" type of pedigree ?

Victor Niederhoffer was given another chance after his first blow up in 1997. And he did exceedingly well with his new fund, until, that is, he blew up again. And while fraud may make investors run for the hills, being convicted (and charged) of market manipulation doesn't seem to worry them...

You'd think performance history would more clearly prove your ability to "earn profits" as opposed to educational history. And yeh I agree with Surf, probably better to move from prop to hedge fund than from prop to an IB, especially now that all the IBs are spinning off their prop desks...

I wouldn't necessarily jump to that conclusion, some strategies are scalable, depends on the liquidity of the product(s) you trade. A $10million account is nothing for most futures/forex strategies, though for some equity systems you may struggle. Depends on your timeframe as well.

End of an era for Switzerland maybe. Singapore still has very strict banking privacy laws. It is in violation of Singaporean state law (ie. a criminal offence) for a financial institution to give out details of its clients to any third party. Now isn't that a beautiful thing :D

If you are using limit orders then you should consider that only a certain percentage of orders will get filled. If you are trading a super liquid market with tight spreads, then it might be better even to pay the spread. But I agree with what most have said. Commissions and slippage...

What do these guys offer to experienced traders with a track record? Can you trade algos there or do they only accept guys that that discretionary like they do? Cheers
