    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

Amazing thread...I've been trading for only about half a year, and over the time the biggest breakthrough would have to be realizing that research pays off. I was having great success in the past with the help of S&R and pivots. However, I've since switched companies and have had a really...

Whats the definition of a point?

Hey guys, I started trading after the Nasdaq switched to dollars and cents from the 1/2 point and all that stuff...I'm reading a technical analysis book, and it's an older one where it refers to points.. When this happens and the price moved 1/4 a point do this.. What is 1/2 point, 1/8...

I learned candlestick patterns with e-signal. No, no candles..The shortest duration I can view too is a 1hr chart..:(

    Trading without decent charts

Back with my old company, I used to trade with the help of eSignal. I basically based all my moves of my charts of my stock, combined with the S&P and Nasdaq futures. I also used pivot points. This style of trading helped me A LOT, and I did very well. However, I'm with a new company now...

    Stop Losses

I can accept that. I just find (mainly today), the trade would be going against me, but the markets would be dropping (I'm short), so I assume I'm safe..I'll average (which I almost feel as if it's a sin to do - I hate it)..And then the stock keeps going up, markets keep going down so I assume...

    Stop Losses

Hey guys, I have a question.. I've been trading for a few months now - so yes - I'm a newb :) Anyways, in the past I've been forced to trade slow moving/boring stocks..I was limited to a low share default..I had everything set up..If my trade was losing more than a cent, I'd get out..$10...

to the atheists on the board

I don't think that God would have anything to do with it. I, personally, am a strong believer that life exists elsewhere in the universe. Considering that the universe is so much larger than our already large solar system, and considering that Earth has life, I don't see why another planet...

Now Canadians Can Blame U.S. for Manufacturing Woes

If I have this correct, our land is crown land, while in the US it is all private hence higher costs to American lumber companies..Not our fault the US doesn't help out it's own country and likes to reap the benefits of its capitalist society

How many decimal places do ECNs and MM go out?

I'm pretty sure if its on the NASDAQ it has to be .01.

My now "not" so secret philosophy to trading successfully.

Great post. As a fairly new trader, I read it and just kept nodding my head and agreeing. At first, I was one of those guys...the guy that would spend hours researching about indicators to figure out what they do, expecting the indicators to be the special answer to everything. "OH! If my...

How many decimal places do ECNs and MM go out?

BRUT can go to .0001, I've read here ARCA does too, but I've never been able to. ISLD and INSB both can go to .0001 from my experience at least..if it's different for each software package, i don't know..

Swift Trade - Toronto Prop Firm

Swiftmike, I haven't moved anywhere. I'll be a remote trader from home. Im not worrying about not getting paid, I've talked to the manager and he's a great guy.

Swift Trade - Toronto Prop Firm

Thats true, but its not a company 'style'..It's a individual style that many people seem to employ. The company doesn't tell you "go out and make credits", or "go out and be a momentum trader"..You basically do whatever you want.
