Economic "conservatives" espouse Adam Smith/Milton Friedman "free markets" and competition, but denounce taxes, and "big government" with all it's evil regulatory fiduciaries along with judicial tort. ...That is until its time to hand out the tax-payer provided subsidiaries; the tax loopholes...

Hi nitro, I'm wondering if you have read Walter Isaacon's recent book on Einstein "Einstein: His Life and Universe". I ask because I've seen him a couple of times already on C-SPAN BookTV and his account and his knowledge of Einstein makes it look quite worthy of a read. -kt

The Discovery Channel had a documentary on the construction of the collider. It was very interesting from an engineering perspective. Wielding the size of some of the components, setting them in tight spaces, and the critical precision that was involved was fascinating.

Case in point.
