Does Cyber allow Spread trading in an IRA? Who besides OptionXpress allows that?

    Raising trading capital?

50/75 EMA cross? That does not look good based on some basic tests I ran. Very late getting in and out. A flat market would absolutely beat the crap out of you rather quickly. Trend following only works when there is a trend. You will need a better way to determine the nature of the market...

    start up cash

Frankly, trading is harder and will take more training to be successful than getting a PhD in Psychology. However, if you are willing to work as long, as hard, and to pay as much in tuition to get your 'degree' in trading as you did to get your other degrees then you can expect to be...

    Series 65

The series 65 is no big problem. If you have already passed the series 7 or 6 then it is fairly minor compared to either of them. Your degree will not help one bit, however. You are probably looking at 20 hours of study time. The material is not that difficult (compared to the 7) and most...

    Futures Proprietary

For kicks lets say that a little bird told me that he is trading from a city in the midwest that has no major prop firm with offices there. If he is looking to trade remote is it important where where he is (as long as they have high speed internet access there, of course)? p.s. - Hi D.P...

    Bright Trading's website

I am not part of Don's firm, but generally when you are short stock you receive interest on the cash from the sale, but also PAY margin interest on the value of the borrowed stock (which hopefully will be going down). So really it just lowers your expense a bit as you are (hopefully obviously)...

    Career in Trading

You say the first job is with a prop firm. Most prop firms don't give you a salary and THEY make commissions off of YOU. What you get is professional leverage [OPM] to trade. Can you elaborate more on the first posn. Maybe you should post in the Prop trading area.

    prop firm dilemma

Yes, I have considered a 60 day rollover. In fact that is probably the way I will try to go. Right now I am trying to build up my IRA so I wont feel bad if I cannot get it back in 60 days.

    prop firm dilemma

I would love to trade futures vs. equities, but all my capital (6 figure range) is tied up in IRAs and 401k's. I would hate to take the hit by taking it out prematurely. Heck, at my tax rate + a 10% stinger that is not a hit, that is bitc** whipped. Right now I am doing well trading my IRA...

How to find a Prop. Firm?

Yep, I looked but with no luck. I also saved the link, but it now comes up dry. Was of recent vintage. Censorship? Hacking? Glitch? I am not sure which.

How to find a Prop. Firm?

Does anyone know what happened to the Forum with a similar title to the above? It had four good posts then just vanished. Was it moved?

    Daytrading Accounts

I was speaking of having enough capital to live on. Trading with $5k till you get to 25k would be a good plan if you have other sources of income. Still more is better. Comm. & slippage becomes less (% wise) as you move up to bigger positions sizes. Your point on money (and risk)...

    Daytrading Accounts

25K is the standard for daytrading accounts. You cannot get away from it. Realistically, with less that 25k your chances of daytrading success is between slim and none anyway.

$5,000 entry with training Plus, Plus

    >I see a lot of envious people who probably blew their accounts >out and are pissed at the world and direct their negativity In the trading world this is call 'Victor Niederhoffer syndrom'. Anyway, yes Don is clearly a businessman and yes he seems to have a good product to sell. I do...

    Frustrated

Your win/loss ratio is fine. More important is your %gain/%loss ratio. I don't no that God could make much money trading in and out of 100 SPY. Comm. will kill you even if they are dirt cheap. You got to trade a reasonable number of shares to expect to be successful.

    Bright Trading

For those of you at Bright, what do you think a reasonable amount of start up capital would be (including living expenses). I am an experienced trader in my own accounts (w/ series 7, 8, 63 in hand) and have a strong knowledge of trading systems, risk management and technical analysis, but...

    Best college major for trading

On further consideration I have to change my vote to Social Psychology (vs. individual psych) with some sociology and computer classes (if not actual minors).
