How do you determine what one normalized (analytical) example is?

I haven't had time to run the numbers yet but I'm starting to think that XOM tracks the price of Oil better than any friggin Oil ETF.

My vote says down but it might continue to go sideways for a bit still.

Which is your opinion on Weekly Options vs. Monthly Options? I'm starting to think that weekly options may be better for intraday trades or short swing trades. There's a lot less premium involved with them.

That's interesting. I never heard of the term "Death Cross" before. In my opinion, that signal is too "slow" and too "long term" for me. I don't really see it as being useful.

The only thing I think that can spook the market in the near future is if the Fed says something bad tomorrow. As for McDonald's earnings I wouldn't look too hard at that. They are constantly growing long term. If anything, in my opinion McDonald's earnings should be down. If more people are...

You need to get the bias out of your head. You could go short and long multiples times in a day if that is your timeframe. Turn off the TV. Stop reading the news and just focus on the charts.

Have you considered from a risk standpoint that your account is too small to be trading futures? Have you thought about trading stocks instead?

If you are biased about only going long it's alright. I used to be like that. I realized if you are only going long you are leaving half the profit on the table.

You should only need a series 7 when you are trying to sell stock to the public (i.e. you want to be a stock broker as a career). It makes absolutely no sense to me for a trader to need a series 7 license.

In the process of reading the classic "How to Win Friends and Influence People". I certainly agree with a lot I have read so far.
