    getting a series 7

Thank you BDT, I was not aware that there was a registration fee involved in getting the series 7. So, the best way is to find local brokers and ask for broker jobs? I live in Chicago... no shortage of brokers here. I was hoping there was perhaps a class that one can sign up for and become...

    getting a series 7

I want to get a job at a brokerage firm, but it seems like all jobs, not just the sales jobs, require a series 7 license. Does anyone know of firms who will sponsor someone basically off the street for a series 7, or any ways to get the license without plopping down some money at a prop firm?

    what does $UVOL & $DVOL represent

I use eSignal which has $UVOL and $DVOL. I am not sure about your charting software, however in eSignal, these values represent the amount of volume going to stocks that are up or down on the day on the NYSE. This value can go down when stocks change from being up to being down or vice versa...

VIX Futures set to roll 3/26

Why would it be that there is a relationship between the VIX curve and the yield curve? I dont understand that. How does the treasury yield curve predict forward volatility in the SPX? If they ever make options on the VIX futures contract, you could make a VIX of the VIX!

VIX Futures set to roll 3/26

Hi, I have some questions that are probably pretty stupid but hopefully someone will answer for me. :) 1. I guess this is trading at a premium to the VIX index. Why should the forward month be trading at a premium to the index and why would the back months have a larger premium? Is there any...

    GOLD prices..

You can also look at YG #F which is the CBOT mini-gold contract which trades 24 hours. I do not believe you can get the 24 hour cash value on eSignal, you'll have to use Kitco for that.

    eSignal data problems

Thanks for your help Chuck. I definately should have tried that stuff before posting. I actually did go and look on esignalcentral.com but didnt see any posts over the matter. That should have been a clue that it was an easy solution. :)

    eSignal data problems

Is there anyone else using eSignal who cant access yesterday's intraday data? I know it sounds like a weird problem, but my intraday data ends on Thursday, or at 1:40 am CST on Friday morning for the minis. The daily bar is there, but I do not get any intraday data.

    ig0r Swing Experiment

Thats a shame about your fill. Your order was at 2.03 which was higher than the low for the day, I dont understand why you wouldnt get an entire fill. I use Ameritrade and I have not had any issue like that with limit orders. Are you going to take it up with them?

    ig0r Swing Experiment

One of these days, I will learn to stop questioning your picks. Close was at 2.48, very nice pick ig0r. I hope you caught a good chunk of that move.

My fault, I was looking at the previous day's close. Good luck on the trade.

    ig0r Swing Experiment

Hey ig0r, I am curious how you came up with that price. I show the low of today as being 2.06. You seem to have a magic touch with these stocks, but this is another tough one.. it is closing below its last major fib level from its Jan rally, and all its technical signs are pointing down.

Where are you able to get those stats? Just curious..

    eSignal EFS code

That request actually turned out to be tougher than I thought it would be to pull off. I posted a question about it on eSignalCentral. Hopefully one of those guys (who are very good with EFS) will have an idea.

    eSignal EFS code

Thanks, I mainly just threw that up as an example of how to make a study out of market internals. I like to look at the high and low of each bar too for the tick, so my study wouldnt be all that useful for that. Throwing Bollinger Bands around a study like that isnt hard. Ill look at it and post...

    AVG daily S&P range

Where did you get those numbers from? I actually ran this test myself in eSignal and got slightly different values. I said that (high - low) / close = the daily range %. I just added all of those up and then divided by the number of days. Here is what I got.. eSignal daily $spx bars go back...

    eSignal EFS code

Unfortunately this is not an easy problem to deal with. Right now they get the value 200 bars back for your study and place it at the same time point as 200 bars back in your main chart. Having eSignal internally synch these things up will take a lot of overhead. What would be nice is if they...

    eSignal EFS code

No problem at all, I ran into the same problem when I wanted to look at the ratio of advancing issues to declining issues, and other internal indicators, as a study with my ES chart. I ended up just placing all of that information into a separate chart because of the time template problems, and...

    eSignal EFS code

Magna, I think the problem in your charts is the time frame. It will be fine for the current day, but when you look back at previous charts, the $TICK will become more and more offset (by 15 minutes each day) from the main chart. For instance, in your ES chart, the $TICK value that will...

    eSignal EFS code

This is a 1 period moving average? Why not just use the close? If thats all you are doing, I dont see how its any different from just overlaying YM on top of INDU.
