    WTI after pit close

One thing that strikes me as pretty strange is the WTI contract's lack of movement for a while after the close of the open outcry session. During the session the contract actively participates in the global markets, and the strength of the dollar, commodities and the equitites markets all...

Fed secretly handed out $8 trillion

http://rt.com/usa/news/fed-trillion-reserve-bailout-401/ Fed secretly handed out $8 trillion We knew the last bailout from the Federal Reserve was pretty big, but not until now did we have statistics on the actually tally. If you thought that the $700 billion bailout for TARP was big, get...

    Mixing options with warrants

Has anyone looked into positions where warrants and options are combined? For instance, warrants traded on Scoach? And would there be any retail or semi-pro software that could create risk-graphs of such positions or do you have to resort to Reuters or Bloomberg for that? Any contribution is...

    Where scandinavian FX is traded?

Reuters. Institutionals use Prime Brokerage to access the big Scandinavian banks. For retail and pro traders, I have no clue.

    Forex News Source

talking-forex.com is a great squawk service for GBP20 a month. I have used them (and before that Ransquawk) for years. Their forex-feed is a steal, considering they used to charge like GBP150 for it 2-3 years ago. Couldn't believe my luck when they launched it as a retail-oriented service at 90%...

How to exploit a corrupt country

Let us for argument's sake say you have access to the top corrupt politicians of a country in Africa and Asia, who are themselves eager to exploit their position and siphon off money for themselves in an offshore bank account. These guys are just waiting for ideas and proposals for deals that...

    CHF breaking new records

CHF/JPY is interesting as a measure of preference between safe-haven currencies. I'm surprised the NOK is so weak, a great place to short the CHF should surely be CHF/NOK at close to 7.60.

Long Sep Wheat / short sep Corn

I'm heavily short Sep Corn from about 720 on average. I think the US Dollar has turned and together with seasonal factors this should drive the contract down to 600. I don't really have an opinion of the Wheat-contracts right now.

    Availability of Historical Intraday Bid/Ask

Is there a relatively cheap way of accessing historical intraday bid/ask-data for options on US stocks? Without resorting to the Bloomberg-2000-dollars-a-month solution. Any tips would be most welcome.

    Can't eat gold.

You can't eat rocks either, but for some reason rocks are not considered a valuable commodity that can be exchanged for goods and services.

So a Bloomberg Terminal is $1,500 per month. Why?

This has been discussed numerous times: A Bloomberg terminal is about news, calculations, access to analytics, not hardware.

Best market to buy and sell at the same price (to churn commissions)

If he were to trade exchange listed calendars or flies of Eurodollars, wouldn't he be able to do twice/four times as many contracts with just a tick of loss?

    Pair Trading Strategy Journal

    - I'm using PTF for the moment. (And would love something better!!) - I guess it's easily dessectible from my post about number of trades per months etc that I work in the daily timeframe. However, I watch levels intraday as well. - Manually, but working on auto-execution. With a bit more AUM...
