Here comes the 12 monitor video card

Personally I don't think that anyone needs that many screens, but if it helps them be a better trader, why not... The only thing with THIS specific card is that it is very expensive, gets very hot and makes a lot of noise. If you really 'need' that many screens, there are better solutions.

Here comes the 12 monitor video card

A motherboard with 4 (or more) slots will cost you about 50 USD more then your average motherboard. So still a lot cheaper than the 12 output card. A wall with 48 x 30" monitors would measure 5,6 metres in width and at 2 metres in height :D I think you can only configure a maximum number...

Here comes the 12 monitor video card

Any eyefinity card has 3 outputs. So if you use 4 cheap passively cooled <50USD ones, you also get 12 outputs. You'll save 1799USD and about 50 decibels of noise...

Intel Launches New 40G SSD.... $125

There is really no need to defragment an ssd. Because of the low access time, it doesn't matter where the blocks of data are located on the disk. An ssd will not slow down because data is fragmented all over the disk. So for performance matters, it makes no difference. Fragmentation is actually...

Intel Launches New 40G SSD.... $125

Have a look at OCZ. They are cheaper then Intel (at least over here in Europe) and you can find a lot of tips and tweaks on the OCZ forum. I have a 30GB Agility and am very happy with it.

    multi monitor stands

Only using 2 holes and such a 'short' arm will put a lot of stress on the monitor.

    multi monitor stands

For Europe, I would suggest www.zercom.eu as they sell Ergotron monitorstands at reasonable prices and their shipping rates are very low compared to other online shops.

    How are laptops for trading?

That's exactly how I killed my laptop. I had a bad habit of picking it up by one of the corners... until the chassis cracked :(

    dampening computer/hd noise

A trading computer doesn't need a lot of cooling. It's not a gaming rig. The Scythe GT fans that I have displace 31 m³/h at only 5 dbA. Most fans will need around 10 dbA to displace the same amount of air.

    dampening computer/hd noise

You should get an ssd. They don't have any mechanical moving parts, so they don't make any sound. They also produce less heat which allows you to turn down the speed of your casefans. The OCZ Agility is affordable and very fast. You could get a dampening enclosure for your hard disk and a...
