    DMI/ADX consistently works

i use dmi in my trading. I filter price more by stocks that are trading above their 200sma. This puts the odds even more in your favor.

Where do you begin looking for stocks to trade?

The stocks you scan for will be based on how you trade. I use trade-ideas.com and I tend to look for stocks with an RSI at +70 and -30 on 60 min charts, and stocks with ADX of +30.

    trend question

Well how is anyone supposed to trade profitably if we're just guessing with 50% accuracy about a trends direction? Why not just flip a coin then.

    trend question

This is what I don't understand about trends, as originally explained, but here's a chart showing my confusion. Price breaks the swing low in the trend. This is called a "change in behavior" when we say to ourselves "ok..maybe price is done going up and we should look for shorts". But if I...

    trend question

The closest major swing low on NFLX looks like 325..? Fair to say this is still "bullish"? My problem is I see things as a "snow ball effect" in terms of trends. Meaning everything gets moving on smaller time frames and develop into big trends. How do we know this isn't a full blown...

    trend question

When is a trend no longer trending? Is a 50% retracement still considered a bullish trend? What's the definitive rule on this? thanks

Why no prop firms for non "active" traders !?

Traders at any of the major Wall Street firms all hold overnight. So what's the difference between a professional trader at a prop firm compared to one at Goldman? Why does Goldman take the overnight risk while 99% of other firms won't? I understand the overnight risk, but again, these are...

Why no prop firms for non "active" traders !?

    1. I thought only retail firms like thinkorswim make their many on commission. I though props took a % of profits traders made? 2. Why would they bet against profitable readers, especially ones they took time to train?

Why no prop firms for non "active" traders !?

I have yet to see a prop firm that lets a trader use the firms money to trade but does NOT require that they are "active" aka day traders. This is very annoying to me. I'd like to substantially grow my capital, but I can't seem to find a firm that will give me that chance.

    Multiple Time Frame Questions

I use a 1min, 15min, 1hr and daily when day trading. I trade gaps so the first hour is very important so I take all my trades off the 1min, however before I decide what direction to take, I'll look at the 15min to see what kind of candles are forming and how bullish or bearish the chart...

    Trading breakouts [By The Book]

AMZN In review: The execution on this couldn't have been worse. Bought right into the highs. Should have sold this the very next day after seeing the daily candle was a pin bar (very bearish) I need to figure out how to "SHORT the pops & go long the drops"........ go against the...

    Andrews Pitchforks [2]

Thought I'd dig this back up and post some charts just for old time sake. The study of median lines is not very widely published or really talked about much. But if you're interested in learning more, watch these videos ( http://www.youtube.com/user/MarketGeometryVideos ). Tim Morge is the...

Here is a perfect example! Also would like to mention that I dont pay much attention to the actual fib retracement levels. It's the extensions that matter most.

    Trading breakouts [By The Book]

Making some changes to how I'm going to trade these "Breakouts". These past few pages haven't been all that successful. Maybe it's due to not trading BO's very well, or the simple and common fact that breakouts fail more often then they run to the moon. Another reason for the difficulty...
