I probably should mention I need it to use the FIX protocol.

    Options Trading Platform

Look for an options trading platform. I've been looking at MicroHedge from SunGard and FlexOpt from FlexTrade, but thought I would ask for suggestions. Looking for something fairly advanced with good risk tools. 3vian

    Question on LCD monitors

I guess it depends on your sensitivity. I am nearsighted and don't wear glasses when on the computer, so perhaps this is why. I can read book 2" in front of me, so I guess I notice the very small fluctuations in the screen.

    Question on LCD monitors

I would limit myself to LCDs with DVI inputs. The new dells have them, but are a little more expensive then the analog version. I just got two for a friend, came to about $620. The DVI makes it a lot easier on the eyes, and when you sit in front of a screen for 7+ hrs a day it really helps...

    Guy on CNBC

I would guess (I am guessing here, I didn't see the piece) he assumes the market is taking into account changes in fundamentals in the long term trend, so the chart should reflect investor perception of the fundamentals. Who really cares what the fundamentals are, what you care about is how the...

    Best Quote Feed?

How about cqg, not sure about an api, or if they allow just data feed without charting. That said, they have very reliable data and also do data correction for bad ticks. I currently use IQFeed for my charting data, but i find it to be slow, but im tracking 400+ symbols so that could be it. I...

    qcharts and the TRIN

I'm also having problems with the TRIN with E*Trade Pro. I've been asking them to fix it for the past week+, but nothing has happened. IQfeed was also having problems, but they seemed to have resolved them.

Am I reading these commissions right?

From what I understand it is direct access, so it is directed wherever you direct it, you can hit regionals or NYSE or an ECN (but then fees apply). So if you trade a lot of listed then these commissions are pretty good, also you can actually make money trading ecn by adding liquidity. I trade...

Am I reading these commissions right?

Okay I just contact genesis and they clarified their fees for me, They do charge the ECN fees as I suspected (how could they not, they would go bankrupt pretty quickly). ECN Fees (NASDAQ) Add Liquidity Remove Liquidity BRUT $0.0023 $0.0027...

Am I reading these commissions right?

This can't include all fees right? ECNs are in addition right (and SEC of course)? But they don't actually mention that on their commissions page (as far as I can see). Some1 from genesis please clearify (I see they are now a sponsor), or some1 trading with them.

    Best college major for trading

I was talking to some ppl I know over at LEH and from what I gathered was that if you wanted to get on their trading floor u HAD to have an MBA. Even if you were willing to take an inter with no pay then u had to at least be an MBA student. It just that there are soo many ppl to choose from...

There is always something moving! You just need to find it (or be told what the big guys are interested in!). Played FOX and WM today. Beautiful print just before the bell on FOX and I'm lovin' it.

    Any good thoughts on gold?

Just wanted to know whether you were planning on trading the future (COMEX or perhaps London, I would do COMEX!) or physicals. If you where thinking of trading futures on the COMEX then please PM me. I have some experience there, and my opinion is I don't care if the product has any true...

    bloc volume scanner

You can also get a squawk for NYSE stocks. There are many traders who simply trade on this info alone. I'm not sure how easy it is to a good squawk, u may need connection on the street (actually im pretty sure u do).

    Had any floor experience?

Just wanted to see if ppl here have had any open out-cry floor experience, like the NYMEX/COMEX? Perhaps as a clerk, telephone clerk or even a trader. I guess you could include runners and summer interns. Perhaps give us some details and if you thought it was useful or what.

For that price you could easily get yourself a good name brand 17" LCD. Try www.pricewatch.com or Yahoo! shopping and take a look there.

    cpu won't shut down

I'm not too sure about Windows XP Home, but for Windows XP Pro I would suggest that you boot from the Windows CD and repair windows (via auto repair, not manual). There may be some side effects however, such as the start menu might get wiped clean, so I would goto the Windows Newsgroup and see...

    Samsung 191T LCD display Questions

Just thought u guys might want to know that the Hyundai Q17 (17" monitor, very nice!) is going for $299.99 after rebate (of $100) at www.outpost.com . I would order another 2 for myself but as usual the rebate is limited to 1. I have never bought from outpost but I hope there are no problems.

    LCD Monitor Buying Help Needed

    1) 17" is enough, a 19" and 18" will actually have the same native res. (except if you get a more expensive 19") of 1280 x 1024. 2) Analog can actually be better, since you can in certain cases get more colors than with digital (but you would only care about this for DVD, video editing and...
