    Got assigned on call options

The few times I have had early exercises that did not make mathematical sense have all occurred in periods of market sell off, I think there is some people who lose it during these times.

Editorial: Improbably, downtown Chicago gets a new open-outcry trading floor

Nice idea, wrong location. Irreversible migration away from Blue metro areas. Trend picking up speed, each one that moves , emboldens ten more to leave "utopia".

Warren Buffett rips Wall Street for turning the stock market into ‘a gambling parlor’

I am not a broker or affiliated in anyway with a broker. But why is it evil that brokers are making more money? Over the years, commissions plunged, spreads shrunk, liquidity surged and better trading products are available. More participants in the market , so more going to lose ? Of...

what was your aha moment when you first started trading?

There have been a lot of aha moments trading, but for me two major ones: 1) Risk control is paramount. You cannot lose the farm if you don't bet the farm. The market will always be there tomorrow, you have to make sure you will. 2) You better know why and what your trading, you do not have...

    The dream to trade.

Get over it. If you are trading to be accepted or esteemed by others, quit now. The only people who respect traders are other traders. Unless you run into another trader, it is useless to talk trading. They do not care or are instantly lost. My wife only cares if it is a good day or a bad...

    Small Options are Coming

Good, overdue. I just hope they maintain the small spreads they show in the ad, otherwise they will have a short life.

Why are used cars so expensive right now?

It started early in the Covid shutdowns, I lived in a major metro area in California and I needed to pick up another "used" car as my wife totaled one of our vehicles. I turned to the usual online sources and was shocked at low selection/crazy prices. I called a friend who deals actively in used...

POLL: Big crash coming this week?

Shakeout corrections followed by dip buying rallies. A sustained crash will need a serious change ( like raising capitols gains tax, Covid 20, etc. ), otherwise money keeps returning to the best game in town.

    Selling slightly OTM-Puts-Good Idea?

This statement alone, says you should not sell puts. Sudden drops in the stock pump up volatility and allow no reasonable escape. A very serious drop or trading halt means no market. You stare at an empty option bid ask screen as no market makers will quote or act on your frantic offers to...

It isn’t just GameStop: Here are some of the other heavily shorted stocks shooting higher

Its crazy, I had shares in PETS and MAC that I was stuck in from March plunge, held for the dividends and was just hoping for a break even someday and wham the "squeeze". Thanks for the escape with nice profits. Funny, this mob may bring back value investing ?

Market rallying on relief bill. More hype to rally markets to infinity!!!!

Exactly right. Tons of folks trapped at home bored with Netflix are trying trading, probably 99% long. This will end badly. Then will have a cry out for a relief bill for newbie traders losses.

What is the optimal portfolio allocation (%) to naked options?

ZERO, ZERO, ZERO Your problem is in your point 1, "you may have to sell other assets" . By holding them now you do not want to sell them. Why sell them by force latter ??? Chances are: The whole market crashes, you get your new assigned goods by selling discounted holdings you may not want...

Options on E micro futures any exp?

Yes, have traded some on MNQ options ( Not the MES yet ) during NYSE day hours. Spreads a little wide, but to be expected at this point and size. A little rough on steady data ( using IBD ) during volatility, but recovers in a few seconds. Overall worked well at this early stage, as Micros...

If I were Trump, I'd "bailout/stimulate" shale producers.

Yes and that is what concerns me, I would like to see the vice opened before real trouble could begin.

Trading micros vs prop firm(IE: TopStepTrader)

you think I should switch to trading live 1 micro instead? Perhaps I am not psychologically ready to handle P/L $20 a point, but at $2/point it looks much less threatening. Congratulations on making a decision to trade full time, some spend years deciding if they should get in the water...

    Is Australian Dollar SERIOUSLY undervalued?

Thanks, profited nicely today on an AUD/USD bump, this currency was not on my current radar ( has been in the past ), I appreciate you calling it out.

    How often you're 80%-100% sure ?

80-100% sure it will work out on entry, otherwise would not take the trade. Once I am in trade I am 100% sure if my stop is hit, I screwed up, otherwise I won't be trading in the future.

How did you trade the last 5 days?

Great week, played half size positions with my eye on a pending reversal, ended up with double the gains. Coasted into weekend with small over the weekend holdings. No special skill, just happened to be at the right "place" at the right time.
