Examples of statistical edges in sports betting?

The good stuff is typically in the prop and exotic bets. You can get a strong edge when you find something but it doesn't scale past betting $500 at the few venues that have the lines you want. That's why the pro sports gamblers I know aren't retired already, nor can they take any outside money.

Reaction to Michael Lewis's book and "60 Minutes" interview

The Feds could fix this if they had the political will to do so. Just establish a single electronic market for each class of securities and abolish all the others. They would also have to ban internalization as well.

Portfolio Margin out of the question due to lack of credit history

Have they turned you down yet? This is actually a very good position to be in, if you're 22 and have a car, a place to live, a 125k trading account and no debt. You might want to start building credit, if not for this PM account, then for the lavish signup bonuses for travel related cards...

Charlie Munger, 90 years old , and smarter than 100 of you put together

Wasn't there always a time and place advantage for exchange members? Now anyone can post a two way market if they've got the infrastructure to do it. Participants are still buying access, but it's going to computers and data feeds instead of exchange memberships.

    who primarily trade LEAPS?

I use them as a financing tool in my IRA but I wouldn't say I trade them. Not much volume in the long-dates ones, especially in the deeps that I want in single names.

What's a good cheap desk that can hold a quad monitor stand along with the monitors?

Fatwallet frequently has stackable coupons for the office supply stores. You can usually find something nice that way. I went the other route from cheap. I have a 3 piece glass and steel set (2 desks or L config, bookshelf) that was $800 on sale, but it's beautiful and still looks brand new...

how to quickly place a limit order?

IB TWS does this. You click on the offer to buy or the bid to sell and it starts an order ticket based on your default settings. If it's right, you just hit transmit after that.

Bright or Echo seem to be the most solid. Are you willing to submit to US regulatory? Your rates are already low but the payout % is probably your largest cost.

Are hard to borrow fees tax deductible?

It's margin interest, just at a higher rate? I'd deduct it wherever you deduct margin interest. Schedule A for itemizers and Schedule C for pro traders? See IRS pub 550. http://www.irs.gov/publications/p550/ch03.html

    Entry signals for Turtle trading

Curtis Faith published them somewhere on the internet. The short version is you're buying (selling) N day highs (lows) and trailing a x ATR stop. Use the ATR of each instrument to come up with position sizes so that each trade has the same dollar volatility. A few former turtles will be happy...
