E*Trade is still open for business. They have closed only their prop business. Comparisons to Worldco do not apply. E*Trade's prop business is a small component of their overall business and as such easier to sacrifice in a general re-org, even if it is profitable.

Yes its very effective. Fills are not as fast as SOES or taking an ecn offer (Although I always thought they should be) but still its a huge improvement.

I don't really want to argue about this. What works for you is great. I've been traidng for a long time and I think that its wise to not to throw money away if you don't have to, at the same time I would never threaten a good execution for the sake of $.002. Just a humble man's opinion...
