IBKR Lite in TWS - Execution Experiences

My experience is in less liquid markets, even their normal account execution is pretty bad. I normally trade against their own algo and immediately afterwards see a print few pennies better somewhere else. They make a spread off me every time. Schwab's execution is much better. Prob because...

Investors Poured Billions Into This Strategy. It’s Not Panning Out.

Low fee index funds will blow up the market. Active managers kept the market efficient. Without them market is just a function of fund flow. It's going to be ugly and inefficient.

Investors Poured Billions Into This Strategy. It’s Not Panning Out.

Nothing beats the stock market returns! Haha. I remember this back in 2007. My biggest investor took all their money out year end because I grinded out 10% in long vol strategies and his other funds made 20% just by being long the market. They got out at the worst time. 2008 and 2009 were my...

    NW Traders

I used to trade stock and derivatives in Brazil. But that was many years ago before the recent bull market in emerging markets. From what i hear the volume is still good and people are doing very well. Compare to the US, there is a limited number of instruments you can trade. Pairs trading might...

Finance is just not as sexy as it used to be 8-). Part of the reason we moved to Seattle area is to get away from the markets for...

    Managing your "book"

It's good that you have interest in trading different products/strategies. Just make sure you size them correctly. On any new strategies or trade ideas, I tend to put on the minimal amount and follow the trade for a few month until i understand the risks and see positive pnl. If it doesn't work...

Banker struggles on $350,000 a year

You guys should try living in Tokyo! We got higher taxes and higher prices. You can not live a decent middle class life without 400-500k a year. Just had this conversation with my wife last night..... What a joke! Time to move back to the States where everything is at least 50% off. Well, maybe...

    IB HK Commission

It's better to just pay the stamp duty and trade on the exchange. If you trade CFD, you need to unwind through the same dealer. That's when they will try to get you. HK maybe slightly different in that I think the market makers are exempt from paying the stamp duty? So they can pass some of that...
