    Charting Software

Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to keep track of 100 stocks I am following and display all the charts from these stocks on one page? I'd like to cut and paste 100 ticker symbols from Excel and then have the program display the 100 charts with the criteria I have specified...

Alternate question: Are there any backtesting programs out there that contain this much data? Does TradingBlox have it?

    Best Historical Data

Hi, I am looking for historical U.S. stock data for the NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX that includes price, volume, and fundamental data going back at least 50 years, which I would use in historical backtesting. Should I contact any other vendors besides Reuters and CSI? I know there is an...

    Deciding between Amibroker and Traderstudio

Thanks for your response, but I was saying that I was going to practice programming in the turtle method to become comfortable with the programming and to test that I have been able to do it correctly. I am not planning on using the Turtle method, I have my own systems. Thanks Murray, I will...

    Deciding between Amibroker and Traderstudio

Let's say I obtain 50 years of historical stock data from an outside source. Is there a way to use it with TradersStudio, Amibroker, or another program by importing it?

    Deciding between Amibroker and Traderstudio

I do not see how this is a problem. At any given time when a purchase is going to be made in a backtest, the current value of the stock at that point needs to be used (the $34 instead of the 11 cents) for position sizing to be accurate, and then since we are only going forward from that point...

    Deciding between Amibroker and Traderstudio

Thanks for the quick detailed responses everyone. I don't have time right now to analyze the issue of stock splits (I was only thinking of the first example and am not sure how stock splits could create other problems not easily solvable), but if TradersStudio is the only one that even remotely...

    Deciding between Amibroker and Traderstudio

Greetings, Some background information: I am a new systems trader and am deciding between Traderstudio and Amibroker based on their price. I have read Curtis Faith's book "Way of the Turtle" where he gives a number of systems and the results in specific time periods. My plan is to first...

Deciding on a Backtesting and Trading Platform

Thank you, very helpful. So all of the programs including Amibroker do not include data but the data to be purchased is compatible with each of the software? It's amazing to be that TraderStudio is the only one that can take into account stock splits and dividends as I imagine this could...

Deciding on a Backtesting and Trading Platform

Hello all, Have just happened across this very interesting thread and while I have read the first several pages with the reviews and the last several pages, I do not have time to read the other 50 pages.. I am looking for backtesting software that can do everything discussed in the...
