I've been using TDAmeritrade since about 2001, maybe before. During this time I've been actively trading about 4 or 5 different periods lasting maybe 3-6 months each so I'm not the most active trader by any means.
I've observed a pattern and I'm wondering who else has noticed this. EVERYTIME...
hi ammo. so I could develop a contingency system as long as I keep dry powder? If the underlying blows up say 4-5 % then I could buy back that position for a loss, (the other leg would mostly compensate for loss) then sell a strike price considerably further as it would have appreciated too. As...
Why is it so easy to make money selling options? What is the catch? I am fairly new to trading options and have much to learn. I did pretty good in Sept by buying calls and puts and selling them when the market hit a turning point. But after reading a bit I discovered that I could sell puts and...
What a mindless fiasco today was. What the hell are they going to learn that everybody doesn't already know? It's just smoke and mirrors to keep everyone from throwing Barney Frank into jail. Cluster jacko**
That's what I don't get. People talk about FAS / FAZ as if they were stocks. Concepts like charting, support levels, volume, etc don't make sense for these on a day to day basis IMO.
I bought FAZ friday. BAC, JPM, WFC, are all up against serious resistance and couldn't follow through Friday based on stupid news. Many big banks closed red and the financials underperformed the dOW.
TD Ameritrade has cost me so much money. Their software constantly locks up with spinning wheels during busy times in the market. Of course this is always during a critical moment when the market is moving. I just lost about 2K because again the market was dumping and I couldn't see what the...
Every time there is critical activity their {POS software freezes up and wont display data. Spinning wheels is all you get, worse than Windows when it first came out.
DO NOT use TDAmeritrade unless you are buy and hold. They are worthless for trading and their servers are overloaded when you...
I did hear one encouraging thing recently and that is China's stimulus which passed in November is beginning to show positive results.
Of course, China's economy is probably the inverse of our own.

Hey! I bought FAS near the end today, first time trading with an ETF and it looks like easy money once Congress gets off the pot.
Unless we go to another war tonight or some stupid disaster happens.
I am soooo glad I sold 90% of holdings yesterday in anticipation of the coming "change" and "hope", bought some FAS late today and will average down in the next few days.
Obama is such a fraud and it pays to recognize that I guess.
Sign in gun shop the other day... "Salesman of the year"...
If it fails to go through it should be obvious what will happen.
If it does go through, will it be "sell on the news"?
Or will the news be soooo good the market will rally because Obama is a freakin genius and will pull off what nobody was expecting?
Please advise. t
I am using their "Command Center".
It's as if there were two different exchanges, two different markets.
I am on a T1 and faster than sh*t. No internet problems, it is constantly TDAmeritrade.
Either that or the stock (which is FNM) which is under complete control of the specialists...
Thanks for that, but...
If it were only slow servers, they would catch up in short time... would they not?
I am saying they CONSTANTLY differ for 10-20 minutes sometimes. As if there were TWO completely different markets for the same stock.
Or else... specialists are constantly trading...
