Because a stop limit is no protection. If the price passes through the election price and then past your limit price, you will not be filled. Leaving you holding your contract with it (potentially) still ripping against you.

My guess is that interrupt handling would always take place on the 0 CPU, regardless, but I don't know for sure...I have not had the luxury of this problem. :) I also wouldn't raise the priority of anything to realtime...that allows you to DoS yourself. Nor would I raise the stack priority...

Can you imagine the heat that thing puts out fully loaded?

I've done this now on two seperate systems, and under both Mandrake and Redhat 9. Both machines have pretty dramatic hardware differences...one is a 2+ GHz P4 with 768 MB RAM and the other is a 700MHz Athlon with 320 MB RAM. One machine is a dual desktop, one is single. I used the Crossover...

FYI, I have had some success getting trading apps to work under Mandrake using the Crossover plugin tool. Esignal & Ensign work decently...

I don't believe IB has announced anything on spot forex. They do offer conversions but no leverage and a very wide spread...their forex support is only to assist moving money between accounts denominated in different currencies.

Those are one-sided costs...you get paid for them going the other way with a pair.
