Don, what are the requirements (capital, licenses, etc) to trade in the Vancouver office?

    FOREX Anyone?

Nothing that I am aware of. I trade with OandA. Unlike most online FX firms, they don't have 100,000-unit size or mini. With OandA, you can open an account with any amount and trade positions of 1 unit to 10,000,000 units.

    Fx News ?

When the market is slow, I usually find some time to read Reuters currency news at Yahoo Finance. http://biz.yahoo.com/reports/currency.html

    Fx News ?

Yes, I check them out 2 or 3 times daily prior to each market opens just to see what R/S others are looking at. I also grab the calendar of next week's economic data before the market opens for the week on Sunday. The headline news are a bit out of date. The market usually moved long before...

Can Day Traders make a good living.

My one liner post about my 1.2% per day return sure generated a lot of traffic here. It seems that most members here were reading between the lines (how that was possible from a one line message, I will never know) and made all kinds of assumptions. I have a small 20K account. I don't have...

So what would you consider is a more reasonable average return per day for someone like you trading full-time?

Can Day Traders make a good living.

What's the odds of having "an upgrade, takeover, something like that" happening on the first of your five trading days after you have already taken a position?

Can Day Traders make a good living.

I wish it was compounding at that rate. Just 1.2% ($240) of my initial account size ($20,000) per day.

Can Day Traders make a good living.

1.2% of my initial account size.

Can Day Traders make a good living.

I've no ideas what others make, but as a part-timer my return is 1.2% per day.

    Canadian Traders, start your engines

What do the Canadian regulators have to do with Canadians wanting to open accounts in the US or any other countries? There are many firms in the US and overseas that have no problems having non-resident account holders. In fact I am trading out of a firm in NY currently.

Can Canadians open accounts with IB US? If yes, what are the differences in respect to the account and trading?

    Bright's Vancouver Office

Why is Bright's Vancouver office not actually in Vancouver, but is out in the 'woods', at least an hour away? Who is the contact if I want to come out to check out the setup?

Thanks all for your responses. I think I will look into IB for my futures trading.

Which Brokers for Less Active Traders?

I'm a bit confused about the fees. Is it $2.40 per futures contract and you don't have to pay the data feed if you spend over $30 commission per month. There is no other fees. Under currency commission, is that for changing actual currencies for deposits into your accounts? I'm trading...

Which Brokers for Less Active Traders?

Thanks, PuffyGums. Do you have any dealings with them? Is that just a firm you know of or do you recommend it?
