Is trading Gambling or not .."What say You" Vote here.

Some card games are indeed scaleable. Poker is. Blackjack is. One can call and raise. One can double-down. After the trade is exited, you start over a new "round."

Is trading Gambling or not .."What say You" Vote here.

The difference between chaos and probability is quantifiable and renders such a statement illogical. True, a set of conditions leading to any given probability may change, but while in place, such probabilities are there to exploit. How else do you explain 100% per month returns, trading only...

Day Trading VIDEOS, sorry no popcorn!

SMP sells trading signals for the ES. smptradingsignals.com I think.

    Greg's Forex Journal

Damn, that's alot of work. I don't miss doing all that. I just use SMP for my signals.

YM E-Mini Trading with Pit Audio as a TOOL

Poor Alex, it's not tough enough being a Polish-Russian Jew, but when he gets caught lying, he's not a good enough liar to talk his way out of his first lie.

Day Trading VIDEOS, sorry no popcorn!

Agreed. The only signal service I have found worth a damn is SMP. Alex is just a used-car salesman.

    Real estate deals

Another vote expecting 2000 level pricing to return in this cycle. Long way to go yet, 50% to go in some areas last to see the recession, such as WA.

    Trader P/L 2008

+82 YM today on two contracts. Might begin posting real-time in my own thread next month.

If You Want To be A Thug, Punching People Randomly, Beware: Video

Agreed. I would have just stood in front of the guy and made him walk through me as I shouted for him to stop. When he then attacked me, then he would be put to sleep. His fighting showed no style but anger, which means easy takedown for me. :) And with him attacking me, my defense is my out in...

    InvesTools anyone?

Investools is where I got my start with learning general investing, about ten years ago. A few ask me what my training for trading was, and I have to mention Investools as my introduction into stocks and options, which paved the way toward futures. I don't care what people earn while training...

    5% - 10% profit per day trading

I don't know who he was (or if he even still has a chat room or is still trading), but it appeared he traded without any stop loss. Fool.

    5% - 10% profit per day trading

You can only compound for so long. Theories of compounding forever are fantasy. You must take profit distributions when you max your # of cars per trade, which I do. Size has its limits, and I dont trade instruments with huge volume like the ES.

    Redi Plus

I wouldn't go back to ES, NT or anything else unless QuoteTracker went under. Too much money for not enough reliability.

    Lets predict the future...

I have much larger challenges awaiting me after I retire. My plan is not to sit in a recliner and grow fat(ter). China will not see depression because its economy is based on socialism instead of capitalism, but they will see ups and downs like any communist country, more tied to resources...

Has anybody taught a close relative how to trade?

I agree with Brandonf on this one. Yes, those of us who actually turn a profit in trading know that college is a poor investment of time, attention, money, blah blah blah when they could be learning the ropes and blowing out their papertrading accounts a few times while you teach them what it's...

    Can I do this?

jonbig, The most user-friendly charting program I am aware of is QuoteTracker. You can use paintbars or design custom charts to your liking with a minimal effort in program coding. I do. Yes, I have used QT for years and would not go back to NT, Sierra or anything else.

    Lets predict the future...

Since I can only push buttons for myself, my economic future looks wonderful. I am 3 years from retirement, when I turn 45. Only took me 20 years to discover futures and another 5 to become profitable. Damn, who is selling that time machine? America IMO has had it's best day. I doubt that...

What would make a great journal thread?

I have seen traders crucified and butchered right off ET after posting their trades over time. Not sure why. Possibilities: 1. Not enough details, such as time, entry, exit, stops, etc. 2. Jealousy among readers 3. Too many details 4. Propensity of the poster to argue instead of standing...

Goldman calls a bottom to the USD

This is contradictory to practice that has paid me very well, that of keeping the trend asyour friend. To guess the end of a trend is folly. The number of traders who try and fail to catch a falling knife far exceed those who wait for confirmation that the trend has changed and then cash out or...
