Today, CEPH gapped up $5 in pre-market just on takeover rumors. Thousands of shares traded above 69. My question is: are all those prints real? Did someone really buy 20K+ shares at that price, just on a rumor, just to see it pretty much close the gap?

The question was, how much are YOU comfortable keeping in your prop account, not how much the regulations or risk managers require. You want to keep as much as you can to give you all the bp you can use, but what I'm asking is, at what point do you start to worry about your funds' exposure...

50K? 100K? Since intraday leverage is high, you would normally keep a relatively small percentage in the account while sweeping the rest?

Actually the price is $650 at BJ's, the biggest negatives I believe are short battery life and processors that run hot.

The ping seems to be dropping little by little, is this normal with a new modem?

I just had the time warner guy come in to test out our lines, we weren't getting the download speeds we signed up for. He just swapped out our modem, and now my ping times just quadrupled (at least to one certain server). Does changing a modem change the route a signal takes?

Just skimmed through this thread, am just curious because wouldn't context override all when it comes to tape reading? Meaning that, price action "x" in say crude oil after a bullish inventory report would portend the exact opposite of price action "x" after a bearish inventory report? So if...
