    Anybody recently dealt with just2trade

Do you have a vested interest in defending them or something? And what are you suggesting anyway - that there is nothing a self-respecting broker can or should try to do in a situation like this? Because that's exactly what happened. And it's not like I was the one who picked out the...

    Anybody recently dealt with just2trade

This POS brokerage was liquidated and then merged with lowtrades.com, due to their clearing company convicted of fraud in 2008. Just google North American Clearing and see what you come up with. I had the misfortune of having an account open with them when it happened. All the positions were...

    Insane CPU usage in TWS

That's not the point - it was working just fine with built-in charts until recently, now it hogs the processor. I wouldn't complain if it always did that.

    Insane CPU usage in TWS

Never used QT, never had this problem before with their charts (though they do suck). Running build 901.8. Interestingly, as I'm typing this, the usage has dropped to pretty much 0. Which leads me to believe it may have something to do with FX tickers I have, as there's no market between...

    Insane CPU usage in TWS

Has anyone noticed the huge increase in CPU utilization by the few recent IB TWS builds? This thing literally kills a single core laptop that used to easily handle running it, so I can use it to cook eggs now. Dual core machines are doing much better, but the process never takes less than 40-50%...

    Interactive Brokers Forex Tax Reporting?

Download their end of year activity statement and figure out your FX trading gain/loss by netting out deposits/withdrawals and eliminating P&L in other asset classes (those are clearly shown). Then report as ordinary income in most cases, for more info see this...

    gold top $1138 or $1300

I tend to agree, and now even the Fed has acked they are creating asset bubbles. How much more of a warning does one need? The ride down should be even more fun than watching it go up.

Thanks - that got rid of it!

    Unofficial TWS bug thread

This is utterly annoying. I don't use the completed order filter and yet TWS seems to want to remind me that it's there constantly. IB tech support apparently believes it can be cancelled by simply hovering the mouse over it (like I wouldn't figure to try that without them). Anyone run into...

AIG almost back to old levels. Like the crash never happened

Ahahaha, why don't you chart Lehman's pps in a similar fashion? Hey, I'll tell you where the bottom is even without one: $0.01. It seems it will not fall under that price. :D

AIG almost back to old levels. Like the crash never happened

AIG has already failed. It has negative equity, as do FNM and FRE. The government backstopped their contractual obligations, not common share price. NOTHING has been guaranteed with respect to the share price. Read this for more details...

AIG almost back to old levels. Like the crash never happened

Interesting theory. I'm afraid that's all it is though, because survivability of these already insolvent companies is completely unrelated to their common stock values. What makes one think that AIG is any better off trading @ $50 than it would @ $0.50? Still owned by the government, still...

AIG almost back to old levels. Like the crash never happened

I don't watch Fast Money. Or Mad Money, for that matter. Or take seriously anything on FBN. Call me grumpy, if you'd like. I see myself as a realist. AIG lost $61B in Q4 2008. That's billions with a B. No downside risk, huh? That's history not so ancient. Is it just me or has everyone lost...

AIG almost back to old levels. Like the crash never happened

Sounds great! Only you are forgetting they're also on the hook for insane interest (to the tune of 10% APY) on the bailout loans in addition to the principal, and are winding down their most profitable units to raise cash. Also, I'm sure their "best year" was the year that MBS they insured did...

Yes. And $40 would be $800. I'd like to know why you think $2.45 is still cheap for this stock.
