Thanks for all your input! I am going to try System Commander.

    More than one OS

Sure hardware costs are pretty low, but why buy a new machine with a 500 $ graphics card etc. when all I want to do is having a small partition on one drive with one or two more OS. Using all my data partitions. Besides, I already have two machines :D

    More than one OS

Thanks for the link, seems to be a nice product. I had no trouble at all installing Linux (Suse) after Win2k. The process is as easy as it can be (if you use the Linux bootmanager). But when I did some operations with my NTFS partitions on one drive (I have two harddisks) and then did my...

    More than one OS

Due to some problems with running win2k and Linux on the same machine, i looked around and found the following program which looks like a great tool for everyone wanting to run several operating systems. http://www.hyperos2002.com/07042003/products.htm I haven't used it yet, but maybe...

    IB Trouble

yes, works fine and isn't too complicated IMHO. I can vaguely remember a warning after the upgrade about using new/old shortcuts. I didn't paid enough attention to it, so I first ended up using the old shortcut. ET solved the problem for me :D

Did my first 100 lot today

Increasing size is the goal of every future trader, that is the reason we play this liquid market:D I think it is important to differentiate when talking about ways to increase size. For a beginner it is not so clever to increase size from a 1 lot to a 5 lot if his risk per trade increases...

    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

You can have both hope and fear, but in the right situation. Jesse Livermore states that we should have hope in a winning trade and fear in a losing trade. That way you are able to let winners run and cut losses short. The obstacle is the human mind which unfortunately works the other way round.

What do you want? Do you know?

Very true! But IMHO first you have to focus on yourself, because if you are not strong and balanced you cannot service others.

I am not sure what you mean by prediction. How can someone trade, if he is not doing a prediction what will happen next? There is a pattern or situation X, so there is a good chance of Y happening, which is the reason I initiate a trade.

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Scientist, sorry man, I didn't meant to provoke your long post...I was just joking! I sure don't believe in efficient markets and you are completely right, the greatest predictability might be in the smallest timeframes. I know that you can have a great hitrate and tight stops. Thanks...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Tip: Remember that markets are totally random and efficient, thus there cannot be made any money, especially since future trading is a zero sum game. Therefore your recent performance was only a statistical exuberance on the far right side of the probability distribution :D

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

I have looked at the Niederhoffer books. Interesting but more for investors as far as I have seen. I just ordered "Reminiscences". So let me know what you think of "Way of the Warrior Trader" after finishing it. Right, it is maybe 95% entertainment and 5% trading insight...but i like to...

I also like books, but there are only very few books on trading psychology that go beyond the standard teachings. Warrior Trader is one of the few books that give the reader some true and time-tested methods and insights from people who had to deal with deadly situations on a daily basis. I...

Ich hatte noch 5 Jahre Latein in der Schule... IMHO the book is definitely not a rip-off from "the art of war". It is a very interesting description of the mindset of a samurai and how it can be applied to trading. Furthermore the book has some nice short introductory stories before each...
