What would you do if you were me?

You can get certified by software companies in all sorts of software tools that would allow you to work remotely. Even if you were to trade (which I would not really recommend in your current situation), you will need a "real" job to cover cash flow and expenses. I wish you good fortune, and...

Your odds of being consistent profitable in trading

Most people who try trading have a woefully inadequate trading system. They are simply not as prepared as they should be. Just my opinion, I wish everyone good fortune !

Yes, trendlines work brilliantly when modeling long term data.

    Trading the Daily Chart

Whatever you do - don’t confine your charting to one singular timeframe. For example - 5 min, 60 min, Daily, Weekly overlays for ES or CL. I wish everyone good fortune!

    Trading the Daily Chart

Ummm…. I used to daytrade using 360 minutes. Also - use a Weekly for trend. Longer timeframes are an advantage IMO. I wish everyone good fortune!

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

You’ve got a fine plan, tbh. :strong: If, for example, I’m short 3 futures contracts, I might place three single separate buy orders at three different levels around (above and below) a recent swing low. That way, if the market bounces back, I possibly stood a better chance of being able to...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Scaling - in to and unto itself, is not an “edge” per se. I scale profits as well - but I take my losers all at once. Which is another great conversation starter!

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Personally, I scale into winning positions. I never add to losing positions. “Cannonballing” is adding to a losing position in hopes of mean reversion. Semantics. My mistake.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Every single trader that I’ve seen blow it - did it “scaling in”. On the floor, it was called ‘cannon balling’. YMMV, I wish everyone good fortune!

    TA vs FA

When I used to make a living day trading futures, I used both. I went into a trading session knowing the usual suspect technical levels and macro trends, inter market correlators, and I also had researched in advance the likely market reaction scenarios for the day's economic release numbers...

Al Brooks books vs trading course

I wouldn't consider selling options premium as a legit "spread". In fact, that's just pure directional risk. That's something I personally wouldn't be comfortable doing. Think of spread trading as betting on the convergence or divergence between two or more very highly correlated products...
