    Limiting One's Self

The dollar /DX is the smallest market I know of with the best liquidity. Maybe move over there so you can do what I call the "two step" as described earlier. Get your two points, sell one contract, move the stop to b/e and let the market do the rest.

How profitable is FOREX trading? (some beginner questions...)

The great thing about FX is that you can get sooooo small. Learn the action and dial in the right amount whereas FUTURES is $20,000 to open a fair sized account.

    Is Trading Dying Out?

I cannot remember the exact report but there some sort of number pumped out by the CMR Group in Chicago and they have reported that the small timers have hit the road. I guess there is a real dearth of 1-3 contract positions which is the hallmark of the small timer. Funny, because some...

Again , See http://www.fx360.com/commentary/kat...n-to-trade.aspx This settles the issue. Also, consider limiting yourself to a 2 losers in a row/day rule.

When is the optimal time to buy back the sold portion of a vertical spread?

My rule of thumb .. never break spread for this reason. Liquidate your winner as it widens out (if you're so bullish). There is no reason in hell to be long a solitary JUN option (assuming its june) Your position could be out of the money by the end of Tuesday's trading session ... you never...

    Weird can anybody explain?

Bingo! If you're bullish sell put spreads 25-40 days out from expiration. If your bearish sell call spreads 25-40 days out from expiration. If vol is already way low and you see a bearish play but the sold call spreads seem "too close" then use 2-3 month put calenders, or buy a bear put...

EEM (Emerging Markets) - Huge Bet for Emerging Markets New Lows Within One Month

No .. when you short the near term put and buy the far month .. you pay for that spread and then make your money back by rolling (or closing). I'd pay about .92. Yes interesting that you bring up that nightmare thread about IB. What if EEM crashes to 20? Of course the short -30 put will be...

Many you're fuckin smart ! To give you an insight . Chase has been scrutinizing my mortgage for 6 months now . I've never been late on a payment and I'm barely upside down. They said the underwriter is crafting me a new mortgage such that they can sell it. Even if they don't give me...

thinkorswim ... but I assume all options trading platforms provide this .. trading options without knowing the greeks is like driving a car with no eyes ... how do you know what you are getting into or where you're likely headed? I sorta wonder how much options activity is just random put or...

New nortgage scam, greater than ever, sponsored by Goldman Sachs & their ilk

How do I get in on this action ... I have been dealing with Chase for 6 months to reset my mortgage to a fixed rate and all they are doing is stalling stalling stalling. The damned rates are at historic lows and I'm not even asking for a principal rake off ... I just want some of that 4.9%...

Obama Advisor: Damaging If All Countries Move To Austerity At Once

This is more Keynesian claptrap. You can have a 1921 severe recession or a 1929 Depression. Pick one. I'll take 1921 thank you very much. You know what is sick? Spain just post their AAA bond rating but their debt to GDP is better than the USA!!!! USA is Greece bordering and headed to...
