Its impossible to be profitable in trading as a retail trader

... impossible perhaps for the OP, however, there are many, including myself who are very profitable. Each have their own path, but my path to profitability began years ago when I dropped the backtesting, indicators, etc and devoted myself to learning intraday market structure and price action...

The more the TV pundits yell buy buy buy, the more retail says sell sell sell.

I hear you, if GSachs is telling everyone that stocks are a great value and should be buying, I'd be the first one out and on the sidelines... but, I don't watch CNBC, I don't listen to the pundits, I could care less if the markets go up or down, I just trade on price action. Having said that, I...

The Unintended Consequences of Money Printing

This is just sheer nonsense, absolute nonsense. Tell that to Greece and the European Union because they've been banging their heads on how to resolve the crises without incurring any pain. Ben B, is that you?

The Unintended Consequences of Money Printing

Your absolutely right. The money we earn or save will simply be devalued by this inflation. It eats away bit by bit, and most of the electorate won't really notice it happening before the shit hits the fan. It's the greatest scam on earth.

The Unintended Consequences of Money Printing

The essence of the problem is monetizing debt which is more of bona fide counterfeiting than it is to being a valid government policy. Monetizing debt is an immediate regressive tax. Let's say Congress needs a billion dollars. They issue US savings bonds which are purchased by you, me...

    Technical Trading Setups Journal

Yup Corn.. if newbies would just use that one setup and nothing else, master it, chances are they would succeed. Without a shred of doubt, you could make a living off that one setup. It's about as easy as it gets but I guarantee you there will be those that will make it harder and more...

    Technical Trading Setups Journal

I"m going to offer up one of the easiest and most successful trade set ups out there. I didn't create it, it's been around for years and it's a proven winner. Some of you might know it as the floor trader method. I rarely use TA but if newbies out there need something on their chart, slap a 9...

You hate facebook? Too bad...you will eventually get an account.

I don't have facebook, I never willl, its a point of pride bucking the lemmings who think FB is wonder bread. Comparing this to cell phones is just plain idiotic. I also don't pay for cable TV opting to use an HD antenna instead... god, how do I survive?

    inflation bubble is coming

Thanks for the link... I couldn't have said it better, Bloom is 1000% right. The market is shrugging this off for now, but the day of reckoning will come... it WILL come.

I'm still biased to the down side ... I'll continue to short these small pops until there's good reason to stop. Looking to turn long side bias around the 1070-1080 area.. we'll see. Good luck everyone!

Carl Levin targets 60/40 tax treatment

Dear God... I hope we can vote out these marxist before any more damage is done. 2012 can't come soon enough.

Currently in cash and on the sidelines, but I gotta say, this is one of the weirdest markets I've seen in a while. I'll trade regardless if it goes up or down, I personally don't care. I'm not really a position trader, but if I were, I would hedge toward the downside.. but then having said that...

Kinda curious PIP but watching your trades, your risk/reward is kinda slim based on your stops and target... Curious about your thought process on this... not doubting your method, just looking for some insight. thanks

What is the best way to learn how to day trade?

Agreed... lets just say traditional TA as it's spoken here on ET.. i.e, MACD, MA's, Oscillators, RSI, etc. I just don't hold the view that price action is technical analysis in the traditional sense.

What is the best way to learn how to day trade?

+1 on the attachment about TA - I make a living trading but it was a long hard road. If I had a time machine and could go back and talk to my younger self, I would say two things: 1. Do not use TA, learn to trade price action with support and resistance. It's a tried and true method used for...

    Best indicators ?????????????

I didn't start making consistent money until I got rid of every damn indicator on my chart. My charts are as naked as it gets. Rolling dynamic S/R price action has made me a bundle of money. Indicators are for amateurs.
