$1MM liquid -- how difficult to achieve 15% annual ROI with option writing?

I agree with you, Say if you bought the long option at a higher delta, if the price of underlying moves the opposite way (in favour of short option position). When do you recoup the money in long option? It would have lost a lot in value if underlying moves the opposite way? Do you usually...

$1MM liquid -- how difficult to achieve 15% annual ROI with option writing?

Nitro, How should I go about protecting myself when I have a naked put position and market moves against me? I usually buy slightly closer to the money put option to protect myself when the market starts edging toward my naked puts trike, so far it has been working well but I am sure you...

    Consistent way to make money

I agree with you. Just a question about writing index options (SP500) 1. How far do you usually write out of the money? 2. What do you do if market moves against you? Any hedging techniques? Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Winning consistently with options writing

Who is Stu Johnson? Has he written the book on that subject? I always sell naked calls and puts on Crude Oil Futures (About 15 - 20 points away for Calls and 10 points away for puts). My position sizing is quite conservative and I use historical data / volatility of Crude Oil as a guide for...

By implied volatility chart and experience, I can tell whether the premium is relatively expensive or cheap. Of course this is not 100 percent accurate, thats why I have a defensive strategy when thing does not go as planned.

    Consistent way to make money

Thanks for your post. In the previous scenario, I would be comfortable with selling 6.25 puts because Im happy to buy the stock at that price in the first place ($6.25 also is a major support line for this particular stock). The stock has a strong fundamental as well, I would not be so keen to...

    Consistent way to make money

Wayne, I see your strategy doing OTM bear call verticals on SPX. Actually I have been selling call and put option for a futures contract (eg: SP500) My question is how do you protect yourself if SPX goes up after you initiated a bear spread position? Do you just close the option position at...

    Consistent way to make money

Hi FT71, Im writing in the money / at the money call options over Australian stocks. For example, I bought stock at $6.5, write calls at strike $6.25 and get 33 cent premium per stock. My maximum profit is 8 cent per share (33 premium - 25 cent). The downside protection given is...

    Consistent way to make money

I was referring to in the money and at the money covered calls I am finding it to be a good way to outperform general market when everything is flat. It definitely beats buy and hold investing. Perhaps the return is not as high as swing trading but I like consistent money every month...
