from nasdaq to listed and vice versa

You're absolutely right. There is no "logical" reason to trade only one. It's just what I want to do. I'm full-time retail at home, not prop, so what firms think or say has nothing to do with me moving to NYSE. I just noticed, after looking at patterns day after day after day on both Naz...

from nasdaq to listed and vice versa

It was not effortless. I had to totally change my head, my timeframes and my execution strategies. It was, in fact, very difficult to switch. -- Dave

from nasdaq to listed and vice versa

Yeah, I have a column in my minder that shows whether or not a stock is in the S&P 500 and even a lot of THOSE don't move -- or move contrary -- when the cash index moves. You would think the programs would kick them, but maybe there are a lot of sector-specific programs or something. I dunno...

from nasdaq to listed and vice versa

That is precisely why I switched to listed stocks. After trading Naz for a couple years, it's actually quite amazing to me to watch the S&P futs tank -- and see my long positions break out at the same time (or vice versa). Kinda weird. Was not used to that when I switched. -- Dave

    Trailing stops now at IB

Not all stops are Market Orders. Trailing stops are. Does IB not offer Stop Limit orders? -- Dave

    Traders Screenshots

Thanks for the Snag It suggestion. Here is my three-monitor screen shot from today. You will need to scroll right (and probably up and down). I use 3 17" LCDs with a Matrox card at 1280x1024 each. Too big to attach; here is the link to see it...

    Futurs calls from mellinnium traders

The problem you guys ran into is that Trade Prospector software is offered by Third Millennium Trading -- which is NOT Millennium Traders. Two different companies. Third Millennium Traders http://www.trade-prospector.com/ Millennium Traders http://www.millennium-traders.com/ -- Dave

    ARCA Listed Routing SUCKS!

Good questions, Leland. The Order Routing Table on HRE has not been updated yet (the way things will change with SM and the ECN mergers, it will be a huge update for that table and I don't blame Alan for delaying this -- I would, too...) http://www.hardrightedge.com/work/orderrouting.htm...

    ARCA Listed Routing SUCKS!

Because the Arca Exchange is the competition to such a system. They want it to die. They don't want to help it. -- Dave

    ARCA Listed Routing SUCKS!

You are correct. That is what I intend to do. ISI/SuperDOT and take my chances with the specialist. -- Dave PS. It's not a great solution for me because the reason I used ARCA in the first place was for position management options (ie. trailing stops, stops that are not on the specialist's...

    ARCA Listed Routing SUCKS!

Can anyone point me to ARCA listed routing info that is up to date? Besides the double-speak pap that is on ARCA's web site? I consistently get CRAPPY (I mean .05 to .20 away) PSE fills when the NYSE (and other exchanges) are on the inside. This ArcaEx is BULLSHIT. Smart Routing is...

    ARCA Pathetic Today

Just got this message: "ARCA listed stops are not currently working properly, use other routes, will advise" I'm shocked. Just shocked. Pffftttt. ARCA has gone waaaaaay downhill. I don't know what their problem is, but I don't trust them any further than I can spit these days. Dave

    Trailing stops now at IB

I don't know. ARCA's trailing stops are held on the ARCA servers. I assume IB's trailing stops will be held on the IB servers. ARCA's trailing stops create an ARCA market order when hit. You don't get a route choice because you are using ARCA for the trailing stop; it treats your order...

    Trailing stops now at IB

Trailing stops are a great feature, but you can get burned on them if something goes wrong that is out of your hands. Check this out: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7190 Dave

    ARCA Pathetic Today

Could ARCA be any more pathetic today? First (and this is a first for me) my ARCA trailing stop hit and I get a message: "Clerk Rejected - Target System Unavailable." What the hell? Good thing I was sitting there so I could get out myself. That trailing stop was a breakeven stop after...

M-T has been on a roll

Since we're hyping stuff here, how about just switching the M-T hype to another site that actually recommends ET at the top? Any site that recommends ET gets my respect, because if they have crappy products or services, they know the ETers will lay them to waste. I doubt they would recommend...

    Short Housing

So are you saying that the old line: "I've got some swampland in Florida for you" from the late 60's and early 70's would have actually paid off big? Dave

    trading movies

The best trading movie ever (and I have seen almost every one mentioned in this thread...) is "A Corner in Gold." It's a film directed by Jordan Melamed, who left the trading pits to attend the American Film Institute. His thesis film at the AFI, "A Corner in Gold", is the story of a young...

SuperEgo & Tony Oz Education session

My definition of a guru is anyone who says, "C'mere and let me show you how to do that better. I used to do it like that, too, but I found a better way." -- Dave

SuperEgo & Tony Oz Education session

Although I use the Oz scanner and follow (a slightly modified) version of Tony's system, I am also interested in what I can learn from SE. And contrary to SE, every "guru" I have ever taken the time to listen to has given me at least one interesting insight or tool. Trading systems are not...
