Yahoo live stock data - charting program

http://www.linnsoft.com/yahoo/ Technically, you can't get true "live" (streaming) data in IRT, but you can do "current quotes" updates periodically or automatically (every x seconds) on a schedule.

What software can help find out what happened in the past?

So you want to look at maybe a daily chart....and then be able to double-click on a daily bar and have the 1-minute chart of that day popup? Ah, I see, you want to see historical fundamental data. I would guess there are probably services out there that provide this. Let me know if you find...

What software can help find out what happened in the past?

Investor/RT can certainly do this, with a variety of data feeds. Here ya go: http://www.charthub.com/images/2009/02/07/AMZN_2.png But I/RT certainly isn't alone in the ability to do this. And the data feed must supply data that far back. I used DTN IQFeed to obtain the data above...

    Top Gun Software

Investor/RT will chart whatever data their supported data vendors will send. eSignal and DTN IQFeed send data on Forex, so therefore you can chart Forex in Investor/RT, including Market Profile charts. Here's an example of TUSDJPY (using DTN IQFeed to feed it)...

Using I/RT with IB for Delta/Volume Breakdown

Reaver, I did an analysis about a year ago comparing the ticks coming in from IB with those coming in from DTN IQFeed: http://www.linnsoft.com/qa/a/108.htm Hopefully that will provide you some insight into the situation. In my opinion, the Volume Breakdown (delta) values you see from...

How to Practice Trading After Hours?

The problem with just "scrolling a chart" forward....the rest of the program is not staying in synch with your chart (Time and Sales windows, other charts, quotepages, data of other symbols, etc). In addition, any signals and alerts that your chart may be setup to trigger won't fire...

Best Way to collect IB tick data?

Here's a comparison of IB with eSignal "ticks" done a few months ago that might be of interest: http://www.linnsoft.com/qa/a/108.htm

HELP!! Is there a alternitive to No-Signal? (e-signal)

This chart demonstrates the underlying issue here: http://www.charthub.com/images/2007/12/16/Weekly_Volume.png The lower pane shows a 20 period smoothing of weekly volume on the ES....which has doubled since the beginning of this year to almost 10 million contracts...almost 2 million...

HELP!! Is there a alternitive to No-Signal? (e-signal)

In response to several posts in this thread, I wanted to point out that both products, Investor/RT and MarketDelta, have received special attention in the area of efficiency with respect to both the handling of incoming data, as well as redrawing. These improvements began in 8.9.6 and continue...

    Point & Figure Charting

Yes, the I/RT P&F charts process every tick, so it captures every price traded.

    P & F Charting

The Investor/RT P&F charts run off tick data, so they don't miss any prices (all highs, lows, and everything in between), and therefore catch all columns/reversals.

    Scanner and custom study/api together

There's no limit to the number of symbols I/RT can handle...the limit comes from the data feed you use to feed I/RT. Each one has a limit on the number of symbols you can monitor/track realtime (tick-by-tick)... and I think DTN IQ Feed has a limit of 1200 symbols, and eSignal maybe 1000. But...

    Scanner and custom study/api together

With Investor/RT or MarketDelta, you can quickly import all US Equities (using an intergrated Yahoo! Screener), then download daily data, fundamental data (and intraday data) on that list. Run a scan on fundamental or technical criteria to trim down your list for what you'll monitor...

tick by tick with Interactive brokers

With regards to using IB data to feed MarketDelta's Market Profile charts....this will work fine in general. If you show the volume bars (volume at each price), then those might be slightly off...and if you have selected any of the delta-based coloring options to color the letters/tpos, then...
