    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

Yes, I am concerned that the game is rigged! I don't mind a fair playing field, I can compete in that. But if the "game is rigged" and my trades are being falsely represented (or rigged) I do have a problem with that.

    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

Thanks for the info. I have similar concerns re: NT Sim101 rendering it useless.

    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

Good comments. I agree, I am using Sim101 and the fills are fantasy. I was thinking IB simulated account as well. Do you know how much deposit to get or is that free for testing? I will try 1-second. Appreciate the comments.

    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

Great advice. I will compare Sim with actual side by side. I think it does all have to do with actual market impact and non-linear dynamics that simulation just can't account for.

    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

I don't think the NT Sim account algorithm is trade when limit price is touched because I've watched this and I often don't get filled when it touches. My hope is that it would be similar to exchange, FIFO but that doesn't seem to be the case. Or, it's just a matter of being picked off...

    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

Simulated real time. I sent emails to NT because their doc says they used an algorithm but it doesn't explain the algorithm. My strategy looks at bid/ask levels and volume which work well simulated real time (based on NT simulation algorithm) but not live/actual real time. I would think the...

    Simulated v. Real time (actual)

I have been simulated trading in Ninja Trader for a while. I had a good strategy that makes $ based on order flow. I went to trade it real time (actual $) and it blew up. Is simulated so much different from actual that simulated can't be acted upon? I mean what's the point of back-testing or...

    Windows 8 Availability

I bought and installed WIN8. Good thing it was only $40. The start screen (Metro) is a pain in the ass. It just gets in the way of getting to the desktop. Maybe the kernel is better I don't know, hard to tell. It boots up a little faster and shuts down faster but that's about it. I would...

    Microsoft Surface

I purchased, downloaded and installed WIN8 Pro today. No big deal. I notice no difference from WIN7 with the exception of the crazy "start screen". I'm hoping there's something better behind the scenes that makes it worth it (i.e., kernel improvement).

    Lease seat / Co-locate

I am currently with Mirus/Zenfire (using NinjaTrader). I have an automated strategy and would like to lower commissions and lower latency. I am thinking leasing a seat on CME (how much $$ ?) will lower commissions and co-locating (how much $$ ?) will lower latency. Can somebody point me in...

    Futures spread trading

I use Ninja Trader (V7) and apparently they don't have built in charting ability for relative ratio data (spreads). It is available via complicated programming however. Is there any (retail) software that has built in capabilities to chart ratio data (spreads). Thanks.

    anyone having Zenfire connectivity issues

Still not connected here. Zenfire/Mirus. Ninja told me major ISP out. They were supposed to put redundant ISPs so this wouldn't happen again. Anybody know why they didn't do that?
