As I posted earlier I ditched eSignal back in November...and switched to SierraChart using IB datafeed....for only $31 per month I am getting everything eSignal had to offer and more. I converted my system from EFS (10,000 lines of code ) to C++ in Sierrachart and I can't believe I did not know...

for those of us using IB datafeed for charting, the charts would NOT backfill the 30 minutes or so gap ... it appears IB's datafarm was completely down during that time as well... question is whether the data in the gap will ever be recovered by IB? but the more important question is how...

all data feed came back up correctly (as in Booktrader) at 11:09 EST...but P/L is crewed up... Anyone having similar issues with their PnL?

it came back at 12:00 EST...but all mkt data in booktrader are screwed up and missing... This is frightening ... down over 30 minutes? Anyone recalled any previous outage of such magnitude? Might really have to look for a different shop to trade at...

that sounds pretty intuitive. But really need to backtest to see if those parameters would work... set these parameters as a function of current ATR of some length, e.g., ATR(13) and test against your intuitive set of parameters and see if any better/worse. Good luck.

hmmm... after canceling eSignal, I played with Sierra Charts for a week and found it to be a bit awkward ... I guess I will bite the bullet and start my learning curve with Smartquant, which I looked at before ... thanks for bringing that up...
