    IB and new CME Cancel/Modify

I think this is the main concern -- dummies that don't bother to look at what their automated trading systems are doing. I was optimizing a system last night with good results. When I looked at the order posting log I couldn't believe it was working at all, but it was. It was changing stops...

    Good API's

I've have seen IB folks in several fora say that the Sockets API is preferred because Microsoft has told them that ActiveX events are not 100% reliable. If that's true the API probably needs to include some additional error/loss checking.

    Tick collection

Sure lots of people do it. IB doesn't send all the ticks though (only about 25% on ES.) So that could color your data if you're watching smaller timeframes. Richard

    Daytrading Breakouts in the ES

With regard to market rhythm and cycles, JR made oblique mention of other market phases when this system may not perform as well. Would you mind elaborating on this a bit, JR?

So what does the trin have to do with this system?

Execute trade without nervous mouse click

The mouse is good for many things. But the keyboard is much better for fast, reliable, high-stakes trade control. Most specialized, scalper-specific software is keyboard oriented. It's much faster and much less error-prone. A two-year-old can accurately press a selected key on the...

Esignal ain't what it's cracked up to be

Symbol limits are supposedly there to keep costs down. As a futures trader I only watch one or two symbols. Why can't I get a sizeable discount for a two-symbol account? Instead of $50, I should probably be paying $10 or less ... Thanks

    Free Forums with Threads?

Which is the best online forum for discussing trading? I'm looking for something that supports threads and posting charts and is compatible with all browsers. What's best? Thanks Richard

Best MIRC free NQ & ES daytrading chatrooms?

Please ... the facility is IRC not mIRC. mIRC is the Windows-based program that connects to IRC servers. There are many other programs that do that too. Richard

    Chart pattern percentages

I'm looking for sources of information on the success/failure rate of various chart patterns. I heard that a Dr. Earl Davis of Purdue University authored some sort of study on the subject, but haven't been able to find much on it. Are there other studies or sources of such information...

    Paltalk Spam

larrybf: One of my first rules of online trading is to keep all peripheral stuff on a different computer. With the current state of hardware, software and data services, it's too risky to trade with just one computer. Richard

    Paltalk Spam

Thanks for the note about IRC channels. (By the way, mIRC is a software package that connects to IRC channels.) IRC is great because it is a well known open standard for network chat rooms. Unfortunately, it is text only. Some rooms use IRC for text and Paltalk for voice, which is an...

    Paltalk Spam

For those that use Paltalk for voice chats, their recent advertising in the text channels is disturbing. The main purpose for paying them a fee was to escape the ads in the free accounts. Next time you see spam in the channel please post something like this in response: Help Stop...

    Question on trading E-mini

``Trading futures is a competition every $ you make someone else has lost.'' I sure wish people would stop saying that. There are many many traders of all shapes and sizes, trading the market in all kinds of different time frames with a different system for each user. When I close a...

    Beating Larry Williams record

What is the relation between successful scalping and hedge fund management? Those are not acceptable credentials in my book.

    SCALPERS - why aren't you trading e-minis?

Yes, trading futures is different. But when a trend kicks in you often get a nice run. And on days without extended trends you can still get nice swings. Futures may not have their `designated leading indicator' (or they may  ). Trend continuation is more reliable as are technical...

    IB ActiveX
