    Expensive or cheap option chains

That is probably why I am confused. It didn't seem realistic that it could be determined quickly with little effort.

    Expensive or cheap option chains

As I flip through different option chains for different stocks, how can I tell if the options are expensive or cheap? Options traders seem to do this very quickly.

Post Your "Lessons learned" from recent trades

Depends on what they are turned on by........if it is you working, do like i have done and start buying and selling small priced stocks for 1 share. IBKR has a verbal confirmation so it sounds like a really busy and important trader while she gets frisky. Works the other way too. I'm busy!

10,000 hours to learn trading - Who wrote this rule?

^This. It hasn't been discussed yet but learning to trade is different because it involves money. And people behave differently when money is on the line. Some won't even make the 10,000 hours.

How to file taxes without showing your strategy to you tax accountant ?

^This is the best answer to the original OP. But there IS a case when your accountant and the IRS want to know your strategy, if you are TTS. You can not simply execute trades from your model or automated strategy. The IRS will nail you on that. It sounds like you are trying to hide or cover up...

Any tips for me i have been paper trading for a month made 1786 thousand with a 10k acount and im 14

ignore whatever profits you think you are making. you are young and have no comprehension of risk (not an insult). Learn as much as you can about EVERYTHING. Learn the math and biases behind every technical indicator. Try to trade with that new information. Record results and then move on to...

    Is trading really hard work?

^This is the typical profile of a trader who trades for a living. OP- You are trading against the most intelligent minds in the world. I have never heard of an athlete train for 10 minutes a day and beat olympians who dedicate their lives to the sport. Over time and with large numbers, not...

Important times during a trading day

Thanks for the answers. But i was thinking more granular. ie, prime brokers start calling clients regarding margin related issues around 2:45pm. 3:00 - 3:35pm all block/MOC orders need to be communicated with prime broker. there are skittish moves around those times. hedge funds use the info to...

Important times during a trading day

I don't know!! haha. I only know some day traders watch specific times during the day for algo trades or key times wall street does something of notice. I know the times toward the end of the day when margin calls go out to hedge funds but from open until 2:30pm day traders are always talking...

Important times during a trading day

I don't day trade per se. I do it but am far from a day trader. So, to any day traders, what are all of the key times you watch during the trading day?

Is Trading the most intellectually stimulating/challenging thing you have ever done? What is #1?

Both, neither. Intellectually analyzing or programming is very stimulating. But I need to forget anything intellectual to think like the crowd. To be the crowd and populist mindset. Then trade against it. That takes balls, not intellectualism.

    CTA algo squeeze

It didn't make sense to me but the insider was rather adamant. I think i fell victim to the story because I know very little about algo's. I was the fool in that scenario!

    CTA algo squeeze

That was my first reaction but i'm on the discretionary side of trading. I don't know about the algo's of commodity trading advisors.

    CTA algo squeeze

Caveat: I do not trade automated systems but would appreciate any input. I'm told today was a day the CTA's were getting squeezed in the equity market as the algo's covered short positions. If algo's trade around $1.5 trillion with leverage, how is it possible for someone to identify the...
