Learning to Trade Emini Futures. Please Help

Davis, Either you have a monumental ability to create exponential growth out of an options-only IRA account, you've over-deposited beyond government allowed limits, or you're a troll. I am not judging... I would be working my options mojo all day if I were you. -K

    Review of One up trader

it's hard to get past the idea that you're paying them for this opportunity... I posit that the cons seem to outweigh the pros. just my humble opinion. -k

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

Yes. Provided the prices are good for entry, I'll let you know how that works out this quarter. I keep my sizing small for my small account and don't participate in some of these pricier deals. I'll look into the strategy above, thanks for the tip! I should have probably held on to ADBE longer...

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

I am having luck doing both: selling options that expire before earnings or at least reach my profit target shortly before earnings, and selling iron condors and other non-directional plays during earnings. I'm having hard time seeing how making the assumption that the rise in volatility before...

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

What do you think of this concept? I'll just tell you while I find it interesting, the BPR is high and this runs counterintuitive to everything I am hearing... which is why I'm curious. https://theoptionprophet.com/blog/the-best-option-play-for-earnings -K

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

I winded up setting up a WSM iron condor: 47.5/50/57.5/60. BEPs around 49/58.5, WSM trading at 53.7o on close. IV not ideal, will have to see how price looks in AM. -Kev

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

thanks, yes I'm seeing $898/352 for same now, with ADBE at 218.18. Would be interesting to see where I actually get filled. Looking at CTRP today and WSM, both after-hours EA plays. I've been looking at iron condors, but will consider iron flies as well. Your scenario puts the BEPs at around...

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

Understood. I wonder how to approach my entry when the earnings are announced after the close of earnings, as I believe ADBE will be on the 15th. Mid-day entry and exit the following AM after open? This is less clear. -Kev

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

Roger that. Any thoughts on a slick exit? I'll likely cut out if I can first thing in AM, but may need to wait till dust settles... -Kev

Due to the better pricing you received at that time? The stock has moved one point since that time. Thanks, -Kev

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

sounds fun! I am adjusting/closing/finalizing all other positions to avoid earnings and took this into account before they were opened. My questions was more specific to an earnings-only play. Thanks -Kev

    Timing a non-directional earnings play

Assuming I am going to make an earnings play: specifically a one-day Iron Condor for DKS overnight tonight, when should I time my entry? I assume some stuff can go down today and I should maybe wait until late in the day. I'm going shortest duration (4 DTE), slight bullish skew. Likely short...
