I don't think losing 8% is outperformance but speaking more generally these comparisons are flawed.
A market neutral quant fund's benchmark might be something like a short term interest rate. Other quant type trend following strategies might compare against CTA index benchmarks or other...
Lol, not this again, but while we're on the topic...if you hold until expiry you're guaranteed to keep 100% of the premium - talk about edge! Sell, sell, sell.
Taxes, divs, no comms, positive expected return, and guaranteed not to underperform the market.
...downsides are we can't prove ourselves as elite traders.
Seems like an obvious choice to daytrade.
This is intentionally misleading...the headline becomes way less interesting if it's "broker allows clients to access exchange traded products."
The headline implies all brokers endorse all the securities they provide access to, which is silly.
STi swap into a GDB? JDM swaps were great into anything 02-06.

Fwiw, I do also think large concentrated funds or trades are a bit silly for clients. Ackmans target fund is a example, if I'm a client, I'll just go out and buy calls on Target myself, no need to pay to have that structured in a fund.
Yes, clients pay for the ideas, but also for the portfolio...

...if it's a large cap tech fund designed to trade with a similar vol to the index and now they're putting 40% on bitcoin to capitalize on next week's fork, I'd say...
