The tricky part is that -100% roi in a day is also possible. OTM options oftentimes double in a day or an hour, but if you're on the wrong side, you can lose 80% of your investment too. Your friend is probably doing this with a small percentage of his capital because of the potential risk...
Which market wizards books are you re-reading each year, that's quite the endorsement. I ask because I'd like to check them out and as we know, theres a million on amazon.
I happened to have worked for a large bank, and to clear up some confusion for a lot of people: if you call in, a bank will not immediately care if you sound like a man or a woman or a troll. They don't discriminate based on how your voice sounds, or what gender they think you should be based on...
I see. Would that I could. My brok frm got back to me and said I passed the threshold 4 times last month. So in this instance I had to. The best advice I can give anyone that needs help though. Their customer service and tech support lines are absolute gems. Easy to call and interact with. Very...
Spy is not an index option though so it uses the underlying's price since it isn't a cash settled option. So it would be related to the earlier example they give.
I actually got an international data plan from tmobile that is supposed to be partnered with local data carriers in 120 countries. Supposedly it works fine with tablets and mobile. I wonder if this will be sufficient since I am not a day trader.
I am by no means planning to promote a blog lol. I am actually going as an extended honeymoon with my soon to be wife. We probably wont be doing too much of the backpacker thing as we're a little old for that, but I haven't ever done any trading abroad and we would be hopefully keeping a risk...
I've been thinking about taking an extended vacation while still trading (benefits of a home office!). What this means is that i'd be purely on tourist visa's, but living in several different countries over the course of about a year.
Has anyone had any experiences doing this? I haven't...
Thank you! I hadn't thought to do that. Optionshouse doesn't provide activity levels, although I was thinking to be a bit lazy and just have them provide me the transaction that put me over. I was also just going to register as I imagine at some point I would have to do it anyways. OPTIMISM
According to the sec website, the threshold is $20million in a day or $200 million in a month in the underlying's price. In share value a trader affects. So on a $100 share, you would only need to trade 2000 contracts in a day or 20,000 in a month.
I do frequently trade the spy weeklies. I might qualify under the guidelines listed as a large trader, i have contacted my brokerage to provide the trades that put me over the tipping point so to speak. They are supposed to get back to me within 24 hours...wah wah.
My confusion though is in...
Hi all, i am a relatively new trader (about 12 months live trading in options). I just recently got contacted by my brokerage to register as a large trader with the SEC. Has anyone run into this and had to register? I am confused about the process of obtaining what they call a "CIK" key. Any...
