I dont work for Swift Trade, this firm usually doesnt hire recent grads without experience, but they decided to do it this time. So they hired 3 grads, including me, (as an experiement I guess) and now all 3 of us are sitting there struggling to break even. Since they have no training structure...

Yes I know I need volume, but if I am doing volume, then at the current rate I'll just lose more. Consistent net is my aim for now. To: Johnd83 I dont understand your post at all...is 45% uncommon, common?

Well, if you quit the firm, then you dont have to cover your losses, but lets say you ended June with -$2000, that would be carried over to July, so if you want to get paid in July, you need to make back those $2000 and then if you make more, is what you will get paid from. But if you are...

.3C commission? I dont understand, do different stocks pay different credits? I thought Nasdaq paid a flat 2/10 cent only. msft, csco have fairly large swings, usually in more than 20 cents on daily basis from what I've seen, after SIRI that always scares me.

I can trade any stock I want really, I started off with SIRI, but that stock tends to swing too much, and I usually end up on the wrong side. So I switched to SUNW because it has high volume and usually doesnt swing more than 5 cents either way in a day trading. Which means for me it seems safer...

yes, well since I get paid 100% commission, if I am not profitable I dont get paid. I get to take 45% of anything I make in a month. So for the last 2 weeks I've been slowly losing small amounts, and not making much at all, and I am afraid to up my trading amounts in fears that if I mess up with...

For now I have been very conservative and safe, usually doing 100 shares per trade, never going into a position of over 500 shares. So I start off my day with -14 dollars because of INET charges, but then I can make as many trades as I want for the day. So I have been struggling to even cover...

Well you always hope to get "hit" to get the credits, problem occurs when you get hit and the market drives past your point too fast for you to punch out and I end up getting my profits wiped out. And this happens too often, and I dont know if its something I am doing wrong or just inexperience.

Its the only option open to me right now, I was hoping to get into position trading but got stuck at this. Figured it cant be that bad. Since I use INET, I trade on 3 decimal place. So I would aim for quick trades, buying at lets say 3.674 and selling at 3.675 to get 5/10 per share. And at...

Hello everyone, I just found this forum today and gave a good look around. I have started 3 weeks ago at a trading firm, doing proprietary trading focused on Credits. Basically I aim to get credits from Nasdaq rather than capital gains so my whole strategy has been trying to scalp(shave) SUNW...
