    SOFR, So Good

Anyone trading intermarket spreads against SOFR? With the demise of the Eurodollar contract, which market(s) would you spread against?

    Bingo! Thank you :)

One page scrolling in a thread

Why does the Export Thread feature capture only four posts and not the entire thread, or at least the entire page?

    Suggestion for new forums

Gee, is that how it works? I've only been an ET member since 2004. Thanks for your insights. BTW, several years ago I suggested to Baron that a new forum dedicated to Taxes would be beneficial. That worked out pretty well.

    Suggestion for new forums

Tags would work! Classifying content by metadata attributes (tags) is an established form of content organization and indexing. But they would need to be a feature of the forum software to integrate tightly with each thread. The category of TA is not inclusive of all the trading strategies...

    Suggestion for new forums

Can we have a new forum category titled "Trading Strategies". It will contain new forums like: > Trend Following > Breakouts > Range-Bound > Fibonnaci > Earnings Announcements > Spread Trading (non-options)

Dennis Chen / Mark Sebastian "The Option Trader's Hedge Fund"

I recall that "units" (aka, teenies) are DOTM options purchased (long) to reduce margin requirements for short option positions. That is their primary purpose - margin reduction. A secondary benefit would be protection, but they are so far out of the money that you would consider it a...

At least half of the futures Calendar Spreads are Illiquid??

Is there enough range in the STIRS to make it worthwhile? I thought the whole interest rate complex has been off the table for many years, and near-zero rates will likely continue until the pandemic is resolved.

Which Bloomberg app runs on Win10 PC? I thought their app runs on mobile devices.

Rasberry Pi 4 and IB TWS

In the industry, Linux is more popular as a server platform (database server, web server, app server), not a client platform. If you're on a very tight budget, then Linux with an open source produtivity suite can replace MS Windows and MS Office, but the difference in cost is really quite...

Not clear on your issue with the type of firmware? You aren't using RAID or a large HDD.

    Delta hedging questions

You're a heavy hitter! If my question does not intrude on your edge, do you hedge at discrete time intervals or based on market movement? I'm under the assumption that effective dynamic hedging in today's market requires an automated system. But if you're doing it manually, that's interesting.

Why do IB spread charts not show the high and low tails?

As @bone will tell you (better than I will try here), spread charts calculated using ordinary charting tools will typically only indicate the open and close spread prices reliably because they are synchronized in time and you are plotting the price series on a time scale. IOW, you know the...

    Shorting Palladium

According to several news articles I've read over the past year, thieves are cutting catalytic converters off of cars and selling them for the few grams of PAL they contain. That's one way of taking a position in the physical.

Ah, it was just a matter of time before Linux showed up. And Raspberry Pi is right around the corner :)

    Looking For A Trading Computer?

Building your own used to be a point of pride in the early days, similar to the history of home-brew ham radios and tube amplifiers for audiophiles. Hard to believe you can save 50% on a PC, but I haven't look into this for a long while. Which retailers are the current go-to for DIY PC components?

    Going long gamma (for profit)

Dude, don't take it so hard. It's only higher level option greeks, not the meaning of life (well, almost).
