    Did you trade today???????

This week was so slow that every half an hour I take a nap. I almost don't trade at all. Every day I see one or two good trades I don't take because I don't trust a market with such a low volume.

    Pivots Working Nicely

When volume is low and locals have the last word, perhaps Pivot Levels work best.

    Los Angeles

Too busy surfing? Not many traders in the LA area?

    Los Angeles

How many traders are located in Los Angeles? It would be nice to exchange info regarding brokers, reading material and strategies. Perhaps, organize a regular happy hour meeting at a local beer joint.

    Professional Trading Tour

Before paying $99 to listen to some well elaborated bla bla bla, I'd like to check the brokerage statements of all these gurus. Do they have any? Don, do you have any?

    Dual internet connections.

I don't have a LAN. I have a desktop for trading and a laptop for surfing the web, e-mail and fun. The FR24 comes with four RJ45 ports that connect with computers' network cards and 2 WAN RJ45 ports that connect with cable and DSL modem. I don't think you can combine the speed of the two...

    Dual internet connections.

When I unplug one of the two broadband connections from the back of the FR24 router, the other seems to be working right away. However, one day I had some real life trouble with my Cable set up as main connection. I had to log off my broker and chart software. I have since then choose to use...

    Dual internet connections.

I got an Hawking FR24. It seems to work fine. I have the DSL as main connection and the Cable as back up. FR24 costs about $80 and it is also a firewall. Since I have installed it, I have no more pop-up windows! However, it is kind of slow to switch from the main connection to the back up...

    FfastTrade vs VelocityFutures vs IB

Trade with FFastTrade and love the platform and the customer support. $550 per month is not much for what you get!!

    Why trade at all?

Average MBA pay is $80K per year. These days you see MBA holders delivering Pizza just like many so called traders or investors!

Why do traders blame their firms for not succeeding?

Please have some style and don't name companies... In general, if prop businesses have some "techniques proven to be profitable" why do they require traders to bring in capital? Why traders turnover is so high? Why if you walk in a prop shop you feel like being in a turkey farm just before...

Why do traders blame their firms for not succeeding?

If there are so many bad posts about proprietary firms, perhaps there is something wrong with the business model they currently use. Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised if most prop businesses would soon disappear from what I hear. And if there is any ground to sue prop businesses for misleading...

Today and last Firday's ES action

I don't play economics releases and I'm going to be on the sidelines for a while this morning. I'm positive that many of you made a lot of money, but the volatility that appears with economic releases is usually too much for my nerves. Perhaps, in a few I'll have enough guts for them.

Today and last Firday's ES action

After a few months of observing and spastic daytrading the ES market, I finally started to trade for real in July. I have become a "discretionary trader" and think that beside the necessary knowledge, the right mindset is key to be successful discretionary traders. I must keep a fresh, focused...

Comments on eSignal 7.x and above

I really like Esignal, however I find it very difficult to write custom formulas with it. Is anybody working on making it a little easier? I know that writing custom formulas with software like TC2000 and Metastock is much easier.

Today and last Firday's ES action

After a few months of observing ES, I decided to stop trading or close my positions about 10 minutes before any economics release. Yesterday, I felt confident to get short at the open for the strong resistance at around 998 - 1000 level, but I didn't take the trade because insecure of what...

Today and last Firday's ES action

Did the ES completed a bottom Head and Shoulder at around 11:30 am? The market took off and in about 25 minutes made a 10 points move. Not bad.

Today and last Firday's ES action

These are all great replies I can elaborate on. I thought somebody was going to tell me to improve my grammar and spelling skills before trading ES for the mistakes in the subject line! Thanks, still daydreaming

Today and last Firday's ES action

Today and last Friday's ES action surprises me a lot. Last Friday ES broke Thursday low and then reversed closing the day and the week higher. Perhaps, a short squeeze, light volume, summer Friday afternoon. Today, ES opened and traded South. After a weak consumer confidence reading, ES...

ES Charts: Pit Hours or Globex?

I agree with keeping an eye on what is going on during the night to get ready for morning action. However, during Pit Hours, do you watch technical indicators based upon Pit Hours or Globex? It makes a huge difference for example when looking at the 200 moving average on the 5 minute chart.
