NYSE trading Dead?? Hybrid??? End of alot of traders

The hybrid system has various execution options and algorithms available. see http://narrowcast.nyse.com/hm/frame.html Price improvement is clearly stated as one of the benefits of choosing the specialist for execution. What I'm saying is that a possible arb situation could result by...

NYSE trading Dead?? Hybrid??? End of alot of traders

Every specialist is different just as every trader is different...you learn to stay away from some and trade more with others. However, anyone who thinks the NYSE specialists are working against you should trade with an AMEX stock/specialist for a day--those guys are crazy. A few years ago I...

NYSE trading Dead?? Hybrid??? End of alot of traders

I was about to post but found that USAtrader has already stated my thoughts rather well. For years I've been making a living for me and my family trading with the NYSE specialists...I don't see them becoming extinct right away (hence the word 'hybrid'), but I'm definitely developing other...

    trading on AMEX

AMEX has little volume for a reason. I make my living trading nyse stocks, but in 2002 I spent some time trading AMEX stocks, primarily SPY. I found it to be an unfair and abusive system. Cancels are not made until the specialist is sure that he cannot find an edge in filling your order...

    Specialist Ratings

As suggested in the thread "SpecialistMan - by John Bogle", I am starting this thread so we can rate our experience with different stocks/specialists. I'll start with a couple: TXN: bad...holds cancels to see if the market will turn in his favor. PEP: good...often goes out of his way to...

    SpecialistMan - by John Bogle

For all its issues, I still like trading NYSE more than any other marketplace. The key is to choose your opponents (specialists) wisely and don't put you head in the mouth of the lion (dont use market orders, etc.). Testing the stocks you're going to trade is key. I've traded with some...
