Failed futures traders switching to equities

Commissions are exceptionally reasonable on the dow e-mini YM. Anyone can day trade without needing $25,000+ in the account! A lot of our users have modest accounts. Taxes are less complicated. You're not required list every sale on your tax return! (US). Market liquidity Futures are always...

Failed futures traders switching to equities

Everyones different I guess? I started with equities, having mixed results then went over to futures and never looked back. I felt equities were prone to much more manipulation. Just my 2 cents.

For scalpers, what technical indicators do you use?

    That's good I needed a laugh.

A question for the profitable scalper ( 10 to 20 trades a day or more)

I scalp GC and go based on momentum. I will enter on a burst and as soon as the move slows down I'm out. I mainly depend on the tape. So no, I don't have a predetermined exit or profit.

[Help] Tape reading and other techniques

I personally trade gold during the U.S. pit session. When I watch the tape I look for price rejection, momentum, little guys (dumb money) and big guys (pros). Try this link. It is a couple of free videos of live tape reading...

[Help] Tape reading and other techniques

Turn off all the charts and watch the T&S and DOM only. If you like you can also paper trade along with them. It will take time, but after a while you will see support, resistance, and other patterns. Just be careful of the games played in the DOM as they can try to trick you.

Where did the "90% are losers myth come from?

I have been told about the odds of making it and not making it so many times it becomes a joke. Some of the odds of making it success stories: Look kid, sorry. I know talent when I see it. You are a decent basketball player–but that was grammer school. This is High School. You just...

Do you trade the first ten minutes?

I myself prefer the opening and close of the session. This is with GC, someone else might have different results.

Daytrading leads to Inevitable Failure? Is Swing Trading the only Viable Path?

YES, I TRADE THE MOMENTUM OF PULLBACKS. MOMENTUM CAN GO EITHER WAY.

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

I think that would be an individual question. Myself, I enter a trade and exit as soon as it starts to slow down into a pullback. I'm sure someone else in the same position might take the heat on the pullback, thus creating a longer swing trade. I have a small pain tolerance and exit at the...

Daytrading leads to Inevitable Failure? Is Swing Trading the only Viable Path?

The numbers don't lie. Yes, the majority of people that flock to the markets intraday are just making a donation to the ones who know what there doing. It's like that old saying "you throw enough shit at the wall something will stick". Granted you want to cut your losers quick and let your...

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Turn off all the charts and read the tape and DOM. After a while you start to see patterns, support and resistance. You will also start to see the different games that are played in the DOM, but these are just other traders trying to play each other. Remember, you are not trading the product...

For scalpers, what technical indicators do you use?

I'm sure this has been said before, but ALL indicators are lagging. I trade off the tape and DOM 98% of the time. It is something that takes time to learn, but once you can read the price action you will never look back.

    A scalper invitation to scalpers

I couldn't agree more. I know there is a difference in opinion as to what scalping really is, so I'll share my thoughts. I trade/scalp gold during the pit session and even though I have charts up, my main focus is on the tape and DOM. Although you have to be careful of all the games being...

Daytrading leads to Inevitable Failure? Is Swing Trading the only Viable Path?

Not all styles fit one person. Personally, I scalp gold 0700-1200 cst, with at least 120 round turns a day. I have friends who swing as well, but for me I do best getting in on momentum and exiting when it slows down.
